About the Business

Window on the Waterfront, located on Central Avenue in Holland, Michigan, is a historic park and tourist attraction with a rich history dating back to July of 1918. Originally established as Athletic Park, the facility was used for local baseball games and was the home field for Holland's team, the Independents. In the mid-1920s, the park was briefly known as Water Works Park before being renamed Riverview Park.

In 1937, lights were installed at the park, allowing for the first lighted baseball game between the Holland Flying Dutchmen and Zeeland Chicks. The lights also enabled Hope College to host evening football games and Holland High School to use the facility for their home football games starting in 1940.

The park became known as Window on the Waterfront in 1996, reflecting its picturesque location along the waterfront. With a covered grandstand and a long history of hosting baseball and football games under the lights, Window on the Waterfront is a must-visit destination for sports enthusiasts and history buffs alike.

"Such a spectacular place to view the tulips for free during Tulip Time. Adjacent to the gardens, you’ll find a fantastic playground. Come here with the family and enjoy!! Easy walking distance from downtown Holland."

"Beautiful. We went mid April before all of the flowers were blooming. The play area for the kids looked fun and I plan on bringing my niece and nephew back this supper."
