"I recently paid for a friend's room. Sonesta then charged an extra 80$. After successfully disputing the charge, they proceeded to try and do the same charge again. This time I filed with the bank for fraudulent charges. The bank agreed they were defrauding me and canceled the card so they can't try it again. This place is full of proven scammers. Proven by a bank, no less."

"No manager on duty during our 3 night stay. We booked thru a third party, so only a manager could authorize a refund. We ended up leaving a day early, and the experience ruined our Thanksgiving holiday."

"Just finished my last night of a 1 month stay while my house was going through major renovation, and I must say it was a GREAT stay!! The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, staff was attentive to my every need (even the noise complaints I made from the upstairs suite was handled within 10 minutes). Quick drive to work (near Downtown Detroit, 20 minutes). The front room did have a stain on the carpet, but let's admit.... there are just some stains that don't FULLY lift out, unless you replace the carpeting itself (small potatoes). Breakfast bar was good, attentive cook.... but only was able to partake 3 times and only on the weekends, as I leave for work by 5 am, Mon- Fri."

"My fiance and I just spend last weekend here and I have nothing but nice things to say. The rooms are very spacious. I like that the layout feels like you have your own little apartment. The location is also very great. It's hidden from the main roads so you don't get the noisiness of traffic but also you're close enough to places you want to go to. The space was super clean as well."

"Unfortunately one of the most unpleasant stays I’ve had. We checked in late, nearly midnight. The front desk attendant was quite professional but unfortunately not helpful once we arrived to our room and the fire alarm was chirping because of voltage issues. My wife and I scoped the room and the couch was torn, pillows were very stained and hair was on the bathroom floor. We called the front desk to ask for help fixing the fire alarm and the attendant that came said “oh yes, that’s a problem, the person at the front desk should get this fixed” - then he left. Unfortunately not helpful at all. At this point it is 12:30AM and we’re exhausted. I go to the front desk and plea for a refund after the front desk attendant says they have no more rooms. She refuses and says I will need to speak to a manager the following day. I have been back and forth with the hotel now for two weeks with no successful refund. DO NOT STAY HERE. Spend the extra $45 and go somewhere else. This hotel is unreliable and not worth the stay."
