"Just wanted to thank Renaissance for their hospitality! I work for medstar ambulance and we sit nearby the hotel and whenever we need to use the bathroom they’ve had no issues with it and are very welcoming. We appreciate it a lot especially at night when there’s not a lot of places to use the bathroom."

"I have stayed here on 2 occassions. Once a few weekends ago and again this past weekend. My first stay was nice (which is why I decided to come back). The room was cleaner the first stay. I was able to relax and enjoy my time away from home. I felt safe. This last stay, someone attempted to break in to my room 3 times. The first time around 10am up until I checked out at 12pm on 11/19. I stayed in room 277. I did not open the door. I called the front desk and told Rebecca that I was checking out at 12pm so no one has to come by and check. I told her someone was just trying to really get in my room, she said ,’yeah someone is suppose to “knock”’. I said, “it sounds like someone was trying to get in”. She brushed it off. The pillows smell bad w the dusty pillow case. I didn’t have many fresh towels. The bathroom was not very clean. I bring my own Lysol so I do my own cleaning as well. I got up and began to get ready to leave and it happened 2 more times. The first time, they (maybe 2 men at least) tried to shoulder in maybe use their foot (by the sound) to get in. Then I just heard the door handle moving, the second time. The last time, sounds like they tried to use a room key. I heard the beep sound. They made me feel very unsafe and I will not stay here again. The balcony has a sliced screen in the door. I am not sure if about that room. I pack the extra lock for hotel doors and now I am very glad that I do. I have no idea what could have happened if the intruders got in my room. I’m a single female too. Not a good look or feeling coming from this. I’m not sure if these were other people staying at the hotel or if they were employees. I just know it was not right. I am grateful that I am safe after that."

"On October 1st, I arrived at a hotel under a discounted rate, courtesy of my grandmother's employment at Marriott. Little did I know that this visit would turn into an unfortunate ordeal. At the front desk, I was informed that the authorization paperwork had expired. I calmly explained that I could obtain a new form the following morning. To my surprise, the front desk attendant became increasingly hostile and belligerent. Despite the minor hiccup, her demeanor was far from professional. I respectfully requested that she refrain from speaking to me in such an aggressive manner. It was at this point that things took a drastic turn. She treated me as though I were a criminal, responding with a threat to call the police if I didn't vacate the hotel within five minutes. I couldn't fathom why a simple request for respectful communication would lead to such a severe reaction. I hesitate to label this incident as racism, as I don't wish to unfairly accuse the entire company. However, I can assert with certainty that I was wrongfully expelled from the hotel and charged the full price with no discount. As an African American professional, I did not feel safe during this encounter. Regrettably, I have decided never to patronize a Marriott establishment again. The following day, October 2nd, I received a call from the General Manager after leaving several voicemails. To my dismay, he displayed a similar level of hostility and rudeness. Rather than offering a genuine apology, he defended the employee's actions, despite not being present during the incident. His tone was condescending, as he addressed me as "young lady" and demanded answers in a manner that felt belittling. I politely requested that he address me as Mrs. [Your Last Name], not as "young lady." The entire experience was marked by a sense of entitlement and disregard for customer service. My partner and I had come to Novi for a weekend property viewing, but this distressing encounter compelled us to change our plans and leave the state. Conclusively, I was the victim treated like a criminal. P.S. the hotel wasn’t really that nice, I have been to better hotels (J.W. Hotel etc) They charged me $209 I did not want to pay in the morning. I have been to high end hotels and I am very familiar you pay upon check in. This hotel is ran by individuals who lack accountable but instead try to gaslight you into being the aggressor. The issue was the form was expired, which they realized 5 hours later. I stated I could provide them a new form and they proceeded to go absolutely insane calling me derogatory names and charging me full price than asking me to leave because I asked them to not speak to me in such a horrible manner!!! privilege at it finest"

"Rented three rooms at this trash establishment. Their pictures of the hotel and reality are two different. The rooms aren’t modern, they are old and busted. My sister's bathroom was filthy. The next day the toilet overflowed and the front desk woman with short hair and glasses didn’t apologize and said that she would call engineering and then housekeeping. Unacceptable and poor customer service. I had to ask for a room change and to accommodate she offered breakfast for the inconvenience. Also, she did not offer to send someone to help move rooms. This is the worst customer service and hotel experience. I highly do not recommend it. Overpriced and definitely not worth it. Also, I asked for extra towels and did not get them. After requesting it a second time it was brought up quickly. My bathroom was gross. There was brown residue on the sink and hair everywhere."

"This hotel is simply one of the best I have stayed at for the price and location. The rooms are big and the amenities are great and then flew years are also fantastic. This location also has one of the best gyms with every machine working properly. I did not go into the restaurant or bar, but it was busy every time I saw it. Keep up the great work"
