"Abysmal. Bring a safe ít you decide tó stay. Í would suggest to stay away completely, íf possible, because the housekeeping wíll go through your belongings and steal what they can get away with. I had to buy 4 different vapes because they kept disappearing. Also, it was obvious they had been looking through my belongings because my paperwork had been disheveled (they love to snoop if it's any interest to them) Even a safe won't help, because my combinatíon safe was lock- picked and the combination changed entirely, such that I couldn't access it. That's not the worst part. My room had slits in the wall, as if made by an exacto knife. Sus red flag #1. These slits had microscopic protruding domes, smaller than the end of a ball point pen. Sus red flag #2. I found at least 2 dozen slits, holes, or impossible to unscrew screws that held in place transparent grating. Sus red flag #3. The two queen beds in my room had been changed in structure within 24 hours, with a large enough gap underneath the mattress spring! (which was no actual bed spring, but a platform improvised by an obviously amateur carpenter) for an adult male to lay comfortably underneath. Sus red flag #4. One night it was bare wood covered by a shamy, the next night someone had reholpstered the frame with a dingy, stained fabric. Sus red flag # 5. It is my hypothesis that there was a way to enter my room underneath the beds, which, by the way, there is a hollow space below the floor, underneath the hollow space below the bed spring. I'm not mentally ill and I don't use drugs, so I can trust my perceptions (I heard housekeeping laughing about private matters of mine which they should have no knowledge of, unless they had pilfered through my briefcase). My vehicle was vandalized while parked on the hotel's property. Now I had damage in that location due to a fender bender, but it was exasserbated by 50%, the dents deepened, the damage worsened, complicating the insurance claim. My final assessment of the hotel is that the staff are two-faced and will take advantage of any vulnerability that you may have; sure, they're all smiles and eager to help, but when they're in your room (and they have a master key to every room) and you're out, believe me, they will look through your belongings and steal whatever they can get away with. They're petty crooks underpaid by management, who are the true criminals, installing cameras and devising devious architectual tricks, for what purpose I don't know. Actually, the entire staff were very friendly except xor one rude front nunce. P.S. If you absolutely must stay here, refuse to be booked in Room 210 Inclúded in the review ís the photographic evidence in support of my bold claims."

"Read the reviews from about a year ago, went there and checked it out, the place looked great, didn't see or smell anything bad. We needed a quick place to stay while renovation was happening at our home, the manager Kimberly was very nice and helpful to set us up, the staff was very helpful. Don't believe everything you read. We would recommend this place."

"Rooms are kinda outdated and there is a sewer smell in the pool that is beyond horrible. The staff is friend and the rooms are clean. It's not the worst hotel I have ever been in."

"The staff here was wonderful. The rooms are nice and clean and beautiful. I stayed here a few years back and the place was run down. The new owners are doing a great job the place looks beautiful. They have a wonderful staff that is so helpful. Thank you for making my stay so pleasant. I'll be coming and staying with you again every time I'm in Ionia."

"It wasn’t as bad as the reviews indicated. Wasn’t great either though. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the TV has lots of channels, and hot water worked just fine. Room was very clean and well maintained. However, the smell really was awful. The reek of cigarettes and other substances permeated the hallway and into my room. I had to buy an air freshener just to get through my four day trip. It was gross and disturbing enough to take two full stars off of my review. In summary, not the absolute worst place to stay, but definitely bring some kind of air freshener if you enjoy breathing!!"
