Bay Inn of Petoskey

"Stayed in Room 1 on 2/18/24. I would have l left a very positive review, but unfortuantely cannot do so. 48 hours after checking out, I found that my torso was COVERED in BEDBUG BITES. I immediately notified Bay Inn by email, but rececived no response. Calling one week later, I was told by an answering service representative (likely based in Asia) that I would have to provide documentation - either pictures of the bedbugs (obviously not possibe as bites never show immediately) or of my body (would involve my stomach, breasts and and buttocks, so obviously refused that). There is no actual person to talk to about this at the property, so no idea if action will have been taken or not. BEWARE!"

"My friends and I stayed here during the summer for a long weekend and had a frustrating experience. First, we were given a code for our room and it didn’t work. After calling the helpline (no human is there to help you), and waiting 30 minutes of back and forth conversation with a third party, they put us in another room. We went out to eat and came back, and sure enough our code didn’t work again. We called the helpline for the second time and had a 20 minute convo to get a new code. Secondly, the place is deteriorating and the pictures are deceiving. There is rust everywhere on the exterior, cracked stairs, thin bedding, thin windows and also very thin walls. If you’re a light sleeper like me, beware! It was the cheapest option in town, but you get what you pay for."

"Despite of all the reviews here, me and my husband had a wonderful experience during our stay. The room was very clean and newly renovated. They were very good at communicating all the details. They sent us text and emails so we got the code for our door and other details. The view from Lake Michigan was very pretty. I will recommend this place to friends and family."

"It took me a bit to think about how I was going to write my review on our experience here. We arrived around 4pm on a Tuesday. Never received my code to get in the room so I sent a message to get it. We waited almost a hour before we could gain access to our room. No bathroom facilities for us to use while we waited for our code so I started knocking on rooms that had people. My poor 73 and 82 year old mother and aunt had to go to the bathroom and a kind couple let us use their bathroom. There was a cleaning lady that was of some help but only when she was there. Our rooms were very clean. We had 1 wash cloth, 4 towels and 2 hand towels. For 3 people. If you need anything you have to send a text for the items. The beds are very comfortable!! Overall our stay was pleasant but we probably won't go back. Reason... no one to assist with items needed.."

"Perfect location!!! The Bay Inn is so close to everything around the city of Petosky. The tables and chairs out front were nice for enjoying the beautiful view of Little Traverse Bay. Our room was nicely remodeled & decorated. Loved the bathroom arrangement and the beds were very comfortable. Nice addition of Keurig coffee and tea. Never heard any traffic or noise while sleeping with the fan on. It’s a wonderful place to stay while visiting the area. And there is more remodeling coming to the outside with hot tubs in the near future. We look forward to returning!"
