"First and foremost , I've stayed in nicer places for a lot less. We stayed on the top floor in what I assumed was there best rooms. ( Price would suggest that ) The room was very small and did no justice to a " Historic Building " Breakfast .... well awful would be putting it nicely. The check in is very clunky , upon arrival we are at the front door witch is locked. So as we stand there and read all the signage on the door , you have a lobby full of people staring at you. If you ever want to feel less welcome after dropping 400.00 on a room ... just wait! Eventually one of the people staring at us opens the door and ask if she can help us. ( was an employee) ( Nope I like to pack my luggage and stand outside people's doors to see if they will let me in ) ( I didnt actually say that ) After having to tell her I made reservations online twice and being questioned if I'm at the right place. I just chaulk this one up to as a severe waste of money and something we laugh at now. Oh and our AC didn't work , was told after talking to an employee that she would set it to 70° from there control room? Well it was 78° all night and muggy."

"The Vault Hotel is worth a special trip to Houghton. While it is a bit quirky, it all adds to the charm and mystique in the end. While everyone I encountered was fabulous and attentive, I must give special thanks to Grant who made an amazing cocktail."

"Spent two nights at the vault on a trip with my sisters this past week and loved it. The room was well designed and comfortable. The hotel itself has a fascinating history and they have done an awesome job incorporating it into the entire hotel. The staff was so helpful and welcoming, they even made a follow up phone call on an item left behind. The Counting Room in the basement is a wonderful little speakeasy and the mixologist Grant was the best. He made the best gin and tonic I have ever had. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Can't wait to come back!"

"Very nice boutique hotel in the center of downtown Houghton. Only critique is our room lacked a closet or much in the way of storage space. Also limited options for hanging up towels to dry. On the plus side, the bed was extremely comfortable and the underbed lighting was cool."

"This former bank turned into hotel is a very cool place to stay in Houghton. The rooms are nice and modern. The speakeasy in the basement was great. Grant was our bartender and turned us on to some new drinks that were amazing!! The Vault is also surrounded by a number of restaurants, bars, shops, and parks. We had a great time here!"
