"I would never recommend this ER to anyone in the GR area. Nurses and clinicians alike were rude and dismissive of our concerns. Being a RN myself, I know how important it is to address patients with compassion and a caring attitude without judgement. We left there and immediately went to Corewell at Blodgett. We were treated with kindness and compassion by everyone there, in spite of the ER being slammed. They listened to everything we told them, and put in a referral for my fiance to the toxicology clinic there. I was so impressed that I submitted a Daisy nomination for the RN that cared for my fiance. To pour further salt on the wound, Metro Hospital's clinician prescribed an obscure medication that is not available where we live at our local pharmacies. When I called, someone named Roy answered the phone. I requested that the clinician on staff review her chart and prescribe an equivalent in the same class of medications. He had me have the pharmacy call. They refused to help in any way. Now my fiance is sick and we have to drive an hour to get the obscure medication they prescribed. I will never go back to U of M Health West for emergency care and would not recommend them to anyone."

"If you want privacy don't come here. Most everyone I came into contact were friendly, the doctor I had was friendly. If you have an outpatient procedure where you need a driver, you better bring a driver that you don't care knows all of your business because they will when they leave. For some odd reason I had to do a check-in registration at 3 different areas for a procedure and each one the ladies that did registration were so loud everyone in the waiting room could hear our conversation. I don't like everyone knowing my personal business. A nosy neighbor was also getting registered for something and I know she heard everything about my personal business. I know UM isn't the only place like this, but something need to change. Thanks to UM and my nosey neighbor all of Cutlerville and Grand Rapids probably know my business."

"My ER visit for unexplained unbearable pain was taken very seriously. Dr. Mann and all the ER staff went above and beyond to find the source and diagnose a rare and dangerous infection. My care after being admitted was incredible. Really top not h medical staff. And the nurses especially were compassionate and caring. I would recommend this hospital highly."

"This may be a place of healing, but the wait time is ridiculous. When you see multiple people come out of the emergency and barely anyone is being seen from the waiting room. Anything over a two hour wait is horrible. Especially when you've been sitting in the waiting room when it was nearly empty to being practically full.... When they refuse to run test because of the cost, rather than looking at the person and the list of symptoms that should warrant the test."

"5/5 Stars My mom had to come here due to fluid in the lungs. They took extremely good care of her, and all of the staff was outstanding. They all knew what they were talking about with confidence, and you could tell. She talked so highly about the doctors and staff. The rooms are also very clean, good size, and accommodate people very well. Not to mention, the menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is pretty diverse and large. I can't think the staff enough!"
