"Food is always fresh. Interesting South American take on Mexican dishes. Only caution is the torta is much different than expected. More like a sandwich with ketchup. Also the tamales are in banana leaf so it’s bigger and more moist than Mexican tacos."

"I went on a Thursday night and it broke my heart to see this restaurant empty. I used to frequent la marqueza taqueria which is right next door for years until prices went up and quality of food went down. It became too salty and not flavorful. My other spot is La torre on Washtenaw. Grateful to have finally stopped in Tikalito (road sign says Korean food I think, disregard) . I got two lengua tacos and one carne asada. Everything was delicious including their salsa verde and hot sauce. Not to mention serving radishes with tacos is always a win. That’s the only way you get them in LA. Who ever is in the kitchen, thank you! Will be back!!! Spread the word if you want authentic Mexican food!"

"Already been in twice since they opened. Hector is just the nicest guy and they are serving some of the best Mexican/Central American food in the area right now. The Guatemalan-style tamales are maybe the best tamales I've had in SE Michigan. They're wrapped in banana/plantain leaf, huge and the masa is so soft and flavorful. Watch out for the bones in the chicken tamal (you get a whole leg section inside), but they are truly wonderful. Got the shrimp tacos on my most recent visit and they might be the best tacos I've ever had in Ypsi. Everything is really affordable. Easily the most authentic and flavorful food for the money in Ypsi right now."

"I checked this place out after one of my coworkers raved about it, and wanted to get the word out. The need more business! We pulled up and a guy was in his car near the back door, and Cam jokingly said that’s probably the cook. Then came in and the place was completely empty. A few minutes later we are finally greeted by, I think the guy in the truck! Super nice and helped us place our order. Cam’s tacos came out quickly and he really enjoyed them. I’m a bit more picky and wasn’t a huge fan of mine, but more so because I’m not a huge fan of cooked green onion, and there was an entire green onion in the Churrasquito that I ate. That’s more about my picky palate than their food, though. I also didn’t get silverware and it was a bit messy eating it while holding it like a burrito. The server would bring stuff out, then disappear. (It took a good 15 minutes easy to see her again after dropping off food for a takeout order. I had Cam run up to the counter to get rung up before she disappeared again.) Three other customers came in while we were there, and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals as well. When we go back, (and we will be back!) I’ll probably get something a bit more familiar, like tacos or a quesadilla. Also when we were leaving the guy was back out in his truck again, kind of dancing around like was doing a FaceTime or TikTok. It definitely made me smile."
