The Aster

"I had been a resident for over 3 years and never made a single late payment. Living in many rentals before this, I can say without a doubt under Village Green Management this was the most unprofessional and concerning move out I have ever experienced. After not being able to find a fitting larger apartment at the time, I put in my notice to move out mid-lease and management tried to illegally push against our contract terms. They then followed this a month later by sending my final bill amount to collections because of another error on their part, with no communication prior. Then after making the final payment in full - they did not notify the collection company of my paid in full status and I continued to be contacted about an amount that was fully paid and signed by the Aster. Aside from the horrible move out experience, the large rent increases (as much as 12% per year) and expensive parking charges were not at all reflected in the cleanliness and maintenance of the building overall, including the stairwells, garages, and elevators. They also do not recycle which is concerning considering the size of the building and the mandatory monthly trash fee. It’s also worth mentioning that some of the positive reviews were incentivized with rent credits. I would not recommend living here as a long term resident and my move out experience is still left unresolved after being ignored by Village Green at a corporate level. They have proved to me that their view is as long as they have their money, they owe you nothing."

"We have loved living at the Aster. The entire staff is so kind. Stacie is so passionate about her job and it shows in her work. I would highly recommend a top floor apartment. The footsteps are very loud despite just walking normally. Also crazy how often the elevators stop working. They do keep us updated on repairs but in the year we have lived there we have been without an elevator for at least 1-2 months. Overall have enjoyed living here."

"We have lived at The Aster for 3 years now. You can’t beat the location; you can be on 271 in less than one minute . The staff is very helpful and always takes good care of its residents. The pool is an amazing place to spend your summer. There is a monthly Wine Down Wednesday resident event, which is a great way to meet your neighbors. In fact, since living here, we have made several life-long friends."

"So far, living here has been really good! The amenities are really nice and the people are always helpful. If you ever need anything, they will respond fairly fast and will try to accommodate you to the best of their abilities. For example, when we were moving in, Kate was able to find a cart for us and save one for us that same day so we would have one when we moved in (which saved us TONS of extra trips)"

"I lived at The Aster between 2020 to June 2023. Location: near Ahuja Hospital and the highway. It’s so easy to get onto the highway from here but you don’t really get the highway pollution noise. There are also plenty of nearby hotels on the same street for when you have guests. There are many restaurants nearby including Hyde Park and P.F. Chang’s which are walking distance (so clutch during winter storms!). Amenities: amenities are great. There’s plenty of storage in the units. The facilities are modern. The underground parking is heated which is great during the winter. The coffee nook was useful. The package room is accessible via a phone app. Staff: The staff was friendly and attentive whenever I had any issues or questions. They would greet you when they saw you and ask how your day was. The maintenance crew is so friendly and helpful in resolving issues and seem to genuinely care. Noise: The main drawback to the place can be the noise. Public areas during weekly events and holidays can get noisy. There are also thinner walls between units so you can hear… a lot. Payments: no need to run downstairs to the leasing office to pay your bills! They use an online system that takes banking accounts and credit cards. This was so convenient especially since I was very busy daily. Overall, I loved living there. It was a place to comfortably come home to after a busy day at work. I genuinely miss the staff and living there and would live there again in a heartbeat if I moved to the Cleveland area."
