Sanitation District 4

"Bill arrived at my home on June 16th (Friday).Due on the 19th. But, office was closed on the 19th for JUNETEENTH. My parent's bill arrived on the 17th. I took them both to the office on the 17th and put in drop box. I enclosed a note with my bill. No one attempted to call me. Phoned the office on the 20th. I wanted to speak to a board member. Of course that was impossible until the board meeting on July 7th. Della stated that they had changed billing companies and the company sent the bills out late. When I pointed out that I had been told that one of the many times before when my bill had been very late and I had to pay a late fee. She was indignant and informed me she wasn't lying. I'm not really sure why the SD4 can't send out their own bills. Probably the same reason they can rarely answer their phone."

"They rarely answer the phone. I recently had a past due balance that was apparently subject to disconnect, although I never received any disconnect notice from SD4. The day they came to my home to do the disconnect, there was a family member there all day. No one knocked on the door or rang the doorbell to even check and possibly give us a heads up or chance to make a payment. The family member went to the kitchen and suddenly the water was off. Unfortunately, it wasn’t discovered until after hours so there was no way to get service restored until the next day. At least this didn’t happen on a weekend. SD4 could learn a lot about customer service from Cannonsburg Water District. They always have someone in the office to answer the phone during business hours and at least they have the courtesy to send out a notice about a week before they plan to disconnect. With all the complaints and bad reviews you see listed on social media referencing SD4, you’d think the county government would take notice and make some corrections to that office and the personnel that run it."

"my water was shutoff after not paying a sewage bill that I am not required to pay. It took hours to get ahold of someone, to finally be apologized for and told my water would be turned on by the end of the day. Next day, water still shut off and now no one is in the office answering phones for the weekend. On week of power because of their mistake."

"Was told they had switched computer systems & my automatic payments were no longer being processed. I managed to get a mgr. who said they'd look into it and get back to me. Never did. Won't answer their phone. Now they are billing me late charges, and giving disconnect notices. Kinda hard to fix a problem with billing if their is no one to talk to about billing. Meanwhile they continue to add on late charges."

"Prices keep going up - WAY UP! The latest price increase was just over 40%. For reference, the regular water bill has NOT increased over the last several months. They do NOT answer their phone, so I have been unable to find out why so much. The sewer bill is now double what the water bill is."
