"Only reason you’re getting a two star review is because I don’t give one star to anyone. Took my 2007 Mercury Mariner Premier in (with appointment) to replace the starter and flex plate replaced. They refused to repair, claiming it was unsafe to even be driven because of some rust out on the frame and, according to Shepherds Ford, the marks left on the frame weren’t the proper lifting points, so no wonder the “technician” heard it creak and groan. When the vehicle was released to me (and without a liability waiver, if it was so “unsafe to be driven “) they didn’t even fasten the battery clamps back on properly, so that the battery wasn’t properly charging and the accessories and guages wouldn’t work properly all the time (intermittently only) on my way back to Kendalville. As for their claim that, “if the vehicle were rear ended, the bumpers would be up to the back seat”, if you smash into the rear of any vehicle hard enough, they’re going to crumple. They’re designed that way which mostly saves lives in an accident! Added note: while it’s “a beater with a heater”, it’s safe to drive according to both Shepherds Ford AND also a tire shop who have it on their lift, properly placed, about a week or so ago. Maybe their “technicians” should either go back to automotive school, or at least stop spending their pay on using illegal substances! Replying to your response to my review, tell your technicians to clean and properly tighten the battery terminals before reinstalling them, because #1 I barely made it home! #2 My battery was so discharged (and it’s a new battery!) that it pegged out my battery charger and almost burnt it up putting a charge into the battery! You don’t have to worry about me ever bringing anything over to your business again. You had your chance and you blew it to smithereens! AND I’m contemplating taking other legal remedies, so tread very lightly!"

"I and my family have been using Jeff's for sometime and had pleasant interactions. Friendly, and professional service everytime. I always get a call before work is done, I appreciate upfront priceing. I find the pricing for mechanical services compareable to other businesses in town. I don't expect discounts, I know when I need service, I have to pay for it. Most the reviews that are less than polite, are from impounds. Oooo I admit I would be upset too if my car was impounded. "Front desk lady" gets a bad rep she is in the middle a lot. You all need to show her some kindness. Let's be honest if you bring the bad energy, she can and will match it, like any human would. I don't blame her! She should take your energy and wrap it with a bow and charge by the hour for argueing with you! I love chatting to Front Desk Lady and the guys - good people! OH, and where else do you get to have Free dog pets? I know Cat Cafe' you pay $10.00 and hour! Now there is something that is a scam at the shelters you can pet cats all day free, and bring your own coffee. JEFF if there is a guy name Jeff....GOOD JOB!"
