About the Business

Highfield Discovery Garden

Highfield Discovery Garden, located at 10397 Springfield Pike in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a 12-acre park and tourist attraction designed to engage guests of all ages in exploring the natural world. The garden features the iconic 25-foot Discovery Tree and seven smaller themed gardens, including a music garden with outdoor musical instruments, a fairy garden with a bouncy bridge, and a vegetable garden with raised beds. Visitors can also enjoy watching frogs among the lily pads, interacting with storybook character trains, and experiencing a pretend tea party surrounded by smelly plants.

Thanks to support from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources NatureWorks program and various foundations, Highfield Discovery Garden offers educational programs to the public and passholders, as well as private programs for groups like scouts and garden clubs. A Family Pass option allows for unlimited visits to the garden, making it a cost-effective option for families looking to explore nature together.

While dogs are not allowed inside the garden, they are welcome on the walking trails in Glenwood Gardens. Food is permitted in the patio seating area, but not inside the gardens. Nature's Niche Gifts & Books shop inside the Cotswold Visitor Centre operates during the same hours as the garden. Smoking is not permitted within the garden, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Family passes are not transferable to other households, and a valid Motor Vehicle Permit is required for park entry. For more information, visitors can contact Highfield Discovery Garden at 513-771-8733.

"I'm not entirely sure that it is worth $6/person, but we went during the "cold season" and it was only $3/person. I was happy paying that. There is a nice imaginative play area, but it's not very large. The music garden is nice, but again not super big. But there is a lot of space for kids to run and play outside."

"This a cute small park for kids. Kids 5 and under I think would enjoy thus better. They do have a walking trail but I didn't try it. We went in the winter so the view wasn't very good. Summer and spring seems to be the best ton to go. It didn't seem worth going several times for my family. Go at least once and decide for yourself. There was a classroom area that had animals and bugs on display. A turtle, 2 kinds of snakes, tarantula, Madagascar cockroaches, meal worms. Kids can color in there as well. Bathrooms were clean surprisingifts hoping. There's is a small music garden with a few instruments. Staff is friendly. Lastly there was a small giftshop."

"This was our first visit and I am blown away by how magical and beautiful this place is! I felt like I was in a little secret fairy garden! I loved it just as much as the kids did! (Ages 9, 7, 5 and 1) I can not wait to come back and explore more!! -PLENTY of parking -Only $6 per person -Bathrooms are very nice! -We spent about 2 1/2 hours here, honestly could’ve done longer! -There are scavenger hunts in the fairy mailboxes -They have crafts scheduled at certain times! (Our craft was making snakes out of paper plates and the kids even got to meet a snake named Disco!)"
