"Dr Dovidio is a FANTASTIC physician but unfortunately the past 3-4 years of so there's been a decline in the office staff and procedures. We've been going to Dr Dovidio for the past 8 years and sadly after one time too many, we're forced to change practices. You have to call at 8:30am, when the office opens to fight and beg for a same day appointment. The support staff gives you the run-around and says that there's no appointments due to... (take your pick: physical season, flu season, covid season, Dr isn't in today, and on and on). I have been told 3/3 times the past few months that my kids are unable to be seen by ANY doctor within the group - but instead, they suggest you go to an immediate care for "continuity of care". The last straw was today when my son had an injury that needed a doctors eye. I had to do the usual beg/argue to get an appointment with the "nurse practitioner" we see her she doesn't touch my son but rather only looks at the injury and sends us to the ER for "imaging and a likely consultation with a pediatric urologist"...we spent 3 hours at Sherman hospital (which was fantastic) - had the DOCTOR come in touch my sons inury and physically examined him and sent us home WITHOUT imaging or a urologist consult. No medication even except for Motrin and ice! Had we have seen Dr Dovidio himself at the office, I'm sure we could've avoided hours at Sherman hospital, tons of money and the worry and fear that we faced as a family. STAY AWAY from this practice unless you want to feel like "just another number" in the Advocate corporate world. This practice truly doesn't care."
