Dr. Kanubhai Patel

"I have been seeing Dr K Patel for the last 12 yrs, once every three months, then here recently once a month. I am unemployed, have no insurance so am self pay $135 ea month. I don’t know exactly the reason for this change. I called yesterday to make appt to refill meds, appt was made by gentleman who answered phone & then scheduled me for 10:45 am next week then put me on hold. Tiff in office tells me dr won’t see me anymore due to having missed appointments. Last time I saw doc was 11/7/2023. I cannot believe a psychiatrist can just do this without any warning or at least allow for ample time to locate a different physician. I think it is not fair to us that suffer from mental health issues that we must start ALL over with another doctor (that is if we can even find one that is taking new patients)!! Doctor just does not care in the least, maybe that’s why he already has a low rating from others. I would not recommend this physician to anyone!!"

"If you're looking for a truly caring doctor who listens and spends more than 10 minutes with you, Dr. Patel is not the doctor for you. I have been familiar with the Dr. and his staff for over 11 years now due to my husband going to see Dr. S Patel and a counselor there. I became a patient myself in mid to late 2019. I was never really satisfied or comfortable with him. I felt he always pushed my anxieties and depression off and used his own political beliefs as an excuse as to why I was wrong. The medications I was prescribed, contradicted each other making me suffer from horrible side effects, to which he would just up my dosage of one medication to "fix" the side effects. I never felt heard. I never felt validated in my feelings. I am leaving this office and now seeing a more compassionate provider that explains medications well and talks to me about each choice I have with them. She counsels me and makes me feel heard. She doesn't just dose me up like he has."

"My wife was the patient that was with Dr K for 15 years Shaunta Sexton. The past year I started to notice a change in her when I would take her to her appointment. She was not herself. We we today 12-22-22 it wasn't a good visit. He was in such a hurry to move onto the next person that he forgot to give her the refills on the meds he put her on. She made an appointment to see him again in 4 weeks but she will be off her meds for around 3weeks. Thank God we got her into a real psych. All I know is if you have a loved one with mental illness I wouldn't start here"

"I have been a patient with Dr K for 15 years. I started to notice how he has turned his new office into a human mill. I had an appointment today with him,my blood pressure and regular vitals was not taken. He showed no concern for my well-being as I sat there crying telling him I wish I was dead. So after trusting what you assume is a wonderful Dr who cares about his patients I now know that he's a fake. So if you want to waste 15 years and money go to him . I'm over him and his new staff . I'll miss the Old staff they are the best"

"Very unsatisfied with care of elderly parent. Very dismissive of family concerns and questions. Felt that his management was to over medicate and not adapt to the clients changing needs. No behavioral or suggested other routes of therapy -only medicine. Staff does the client assessment and Dr looks over the papers and signs off. Does not generate a feeling of genuine concern. Ended therapy without the clients knowledge or any closure process. Big problem for a degreed professional psychiatrist. Old school in an ever evolving and improving field of psychiatric care."
