"Recently we boarded are 2 Dobermans for six nights. Even though, my 2yr old has only been boarded once b4, she quickly took to the handler. When I picked them up they were happy to see us but, still wanted to play with him. I appreciated that he knew the characteristic's of the breed and I felt confident in the way he handled them. I would recommend The Avon Pet Lodge to my friends."

"We had our two dogs boarded here twice. As others have said, we had a bad experience. It seems the owner has a script of what to tell people. We were also told our dogs "had an accident" which they NEVER do. Our dogs peed outside for an eternity and came home and drank multiple bowls of water. Both of these things lead us to believe they weren't being let out and given water. This place should be avoided at all costs."

"If I could give a 0, I would. Took my dogs here for 5 nights while I was out of town. I tried calling several times to check on them while I was gone and he would not answer the phone. I had a friend call to check on them for me since I couldnt get thru, and the owner answered the phone immediatly. Ive hear that he screens calls to avoid talking to pet parents but will answer new numbers to book reservations. Upon pick up, both of my dogs were underweight and had lost significant body mass. Both of them were soaking wet and smelled like urine. My dogs were totally exhausted and stressed for days after coming home. Warning: I work in Pet retail and engage with guests from the area daily. I have NEVER heard a good review from anyone about his establishment. Please, please do not utilize his services. Go elsewhere, it's not worth it."

"I strongly advise against choosing this pet boarding facility. My friend just took her dog here and upon pick up she was in for a surprise. Initially, she had high hopes based on positive reviews when she needed to leave her dog for a trip. The owner appeared friendly and trustworthy when she met him, but her experience took a disappointing turn. Upon picking up her dog, the owner claimed to have given him a bath, went in the back to get him and took 20 minutes stating he had to give him another bath… her dog was dirty and had a terrible odor. The owner attributed this to her dog rolling in his own waste, which is not something he does at home. Additionally, she dog seemed malnourished, now has a UTI & has an open sore on his paw. I cannot recommend this place to anyone for their pets."

"This was my first time using Avon Pet Lodge and I will never return. I left my dog for a long weekend and when I picked him up he was clearly neglected, he was visibly skinnier and obviously not taken outside for a long period of time - he peed for almost a minute when he came out. He also smelled horrific and I paid for him to get a bath during his stay. Please do not board your dogs here - I promise you will regret it."
