"On Feb 23rd 2023 I had a mini lift with chin lipo and buccal fat reduction with Dr. Chegar and the entire experience from the initial consultation to the after care was great. After gaining and then losing approximately 35 lbs things did not bounce back the way I assumed they would, I also noticed that my right cheek remained a good bit larger after the weight loss than the left and a bit of a double chin also remained. I know 35 lbs isn’t a huge amount of weight but I tend to gain in my face and neck a lot even with a small amount of weight gain. I am still fairly young (late 30’s) but the result of my weight gain and loss left me feeling unhappy with my appearance and I felt I no longer looked quite like myself. I started seriously researching plastic surgery in late 2021/early 2022 and by summer 2022 decided to book a couple of consultations. I currently live in Fort Wayne but specifically wanted to go to a facial plastic surgeon so I found two in Indianapolis that I thought would be good options. I booked the consultations, both ended up being in September 2022, the first was with the other Doctor and the second with Dr. Chegar. The consultation with the first Doctor went well, I liked him and he had the credentials and positive reviews, and I was tempted to just book with him right away because he was booked into early 2023 but I’m glad I waited. The reasons I ultimately went with Dr. Chegar are partially due to differences in technique but mostly because he has a calming manner, he’s friendly but not in an exaggerated way, he’s easy to talk to and takes his time listening and explaining things. I also liked his hands on approach, he took the before and after pictures himself and the entire consultation was spent with him rather than his staff. I ended up booking the first available appointment which was Feb 23rd, so an even longer wait than the first Doctor, but I was fine with waiting. The pre-op appointment was about a month before my surgery, which was also with him rather than a nurse which surprised me. I had the surgery at his office with IV sedation, which from what I understand is not necessarily an option for everyone, (like I said I am still fairly young, and in good health), and it did save me a good bit of money for facility fees etc. I don’t want to get into too many specifics, but the first post-op was the very next day and following that one week out to have my stitches removed. Overall, it was a pretty simple and straight forward process and although it’s quite uncomfortable for the first week or two I had no real pain to speak of. The hardest part for me was the swelling, I felt hideous and had a hard time imagining the results but the best advice I can give is to trust the process. Now for the results, I am so happy with the results! I look 100% natural, I look like myself from like eight to ten years ago, and I feel like myself again. Dr. Chegar did a beautiful job and is truly an artist, I could not be happier! I feel like I have my confidence back and when I was thanking him at the six-week post-op I could feel myself getting a little emotional. I’m not from Indiana and don’t plan on living here long term but I would fly across the country to see him if I have any future work done. I also want to add that he and his staff are highly responsive during the after-care part of the journey, I felt like I sent them a hundred text messages over every little thing, and they were always kind and quick with their responses. Dr. Chegar and his entire staff were fabulous but aside from Dr. Chegar himself I also want to give a special thank you to Dawn Fox one of the medical assistants for being so kind and making me feel reassured during the healing process. I am so glad I did this, I have zero regrets, and I’m so glad I found Dr. Chegar!"
