Kroger

"I have taken to going 1/4 mile further to Meijer. Mulberry Kroger is way too small, product selection is limited or out of stock. I can go to Meijer or the Milford Kroger and find at least twice the product selection of Mulberry Kroger. Mulberry Kroger needs a new building."

"A nice store. Bakery selection was slim. I wish they would carry a larger selection of deli meats other than the expensive brand. They are forcing me to go to Walmart for my deli meats. Other than that, everything was clean and fairly well stocked."

"Today had my first taste of Kroger's new anti theft system LOCKING CART wheels. I was leaving the store after using the U-Scan when the wheels instantly locked, I nearly fell over the cart with other customers right behind me, fortunately no one was injured. I assumed it was a faulty cart, but turns out that their system had falsely triggered. No apology - just a smile and "oh it happens". Very embarrassing. I had been reducing my visits to this store already, but after this I don't plan on returning unless absolutely necessary."

"For whatever reason they don't keep all the self checkout lanes open. I used to like going there, but I don't want to wait 45 minutes to pay for three items. When I asked the neckbeard fedora wearing cashier why they keep shutting down half the lanes, he said because management allows him to. He then suggested I shop somewhere else when he was working because he wasn't running more than 4 lanes. The odd part was that he wasn't being a jerk or power tripping, just telling me very matter of factly. I switched to Meijer across the street back in July and I don't have that problem anymore. Today I called the store and asked if they were still doing that. I wasn't being argumentative, just politely asking. The young man who spoke to me was very annoyed and told me that they were very busy and only half the lanes were open. He suggested I shop somewhere else if I don't want to wait in line. So yeah, I guess that's the end of Kroger's for me. What a shame. My apologies to Antwon but my time is valuable and I have zero loyalty to his store."

"Perhaps Friday mornings are the worst time to shop here, but today was exceptionally bad. Checking out was a nightmare with only one cashier working. I did not do self-check due to the volume of groceries I had. The self-check stations do not have a conveyer belt so they are only good for someone with just a few items. When I was in line with 3 customers ahead of me, there were at least 10 behind me. The line stretched from the cashier lane all the way back to the deli counter. Of course this caused a great deal of congestion for other shoppers to maneuver around the store. The aisles are narrow to begin with but the store makes them into obstacle courses by putting displays in the middle of the aisle and the employees filling instacart/curbside pickup orders parking their carts right in the middle of the aisles and leaving them to go search for an item. When checking out, the bagger bagged lightweight items one to a bag, then put multiple large jugs of juice and milk together so that bag was exceptionally heavy causing the handles to tear when lifting out of the cart. To her credit, the one cashier was in remarkably good spirits. perhaps she didn't see the line of carts behind me. Needless to say, I will not be returning to that Kroger again."
