About the Business

Mr. Spots

Mr. Spots is a beloved institution located at 206 North Main Street in Bowling Green, Ohio. Known as the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of Cheesesteaks & Wings, Mr. Spots was founded in February 1985 by Jim Gavarone and Jim Kelley. Paying homage to authentic wing and sandwich restaurants in Philadelphia, Mr. Spots quickly became a favorite in the Midwest, being one of the first to sell buffalo wings in the region.

The restaurant is named after Gavarone's cat and is known for its fresh Amoroso's rolls shipped in from Philadelphia, special ordered Italian meats, and its reputation as the "King of Wings." With a second location in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Mr. Spots continues to be a popular choice for high school and college friends Keith McKendry and Tim Wojcik, who now own and operate the Ann Arbor branch.

Whether you're craving a delicious cheesesteak or mouthwatering wings, Mr. Spots is the go-to spot for a satisfying meal. Proudly created and maintained by MerTech Solutions MI, LLC, Mr. Spots is a must-visit destination for food lovers in Bowling Green and Ann Arbor alike.

"Have been coming here since I was a kid. Mr. Spots never disappoints. Double Firesteak w/ provolone combo. It never gets old. The service is always friendly and the food is always good. I would recommend this place to anyone. By far one of the best places to eat in BG."

"Great food. Got the chicken Philly with waffle fries and everything was hot and properly cooked and seasoned well. The chicken tenders were a bit too crispy and overcooked, wouldn’t recommend. Overall good music selection, quick service, and moderately clean establishment."

"2 hours and no order received. Called after 75 minutes and told it was out for delivery. 25 minutes later and no order so when I called back to cancel it was, "no problem we will credit your credit card.". It was like they knew they lied the first time. Just be upfront about delivery time. I live 6 minutes away and have had this problem on the last 3 orders. Ended up with cold food the last time, pay for extra meat on sandwiches but end up with less than before with normal order. This place has gone downhill since previous manager was charged with embezzlement. At least you got what you paid for then, I guess the State Rep is making up for lost funds with overcharging, under product portions, and clearly under staffing. Will not attempt here again after 3 dismal experiences. Shame for a staple my last 20 years of patronizing."

"A friend of mine invited me out to his favorite place for sandwiches, and I was happy to take the drive to Bowling Green for some great, casual food. I will definitely be back to BG, but not for Mr. Spots. I got the "Spot's Special." It took me no time to decide ... when in Rome - get the special. I even got one to go for my dad. If something is great it needs to be shared. I was mistaken. It was a bland, flavorless, boring, overpriced, dud sandwich. I would have preferred anything, I mean anything, from Subway. It was that huge of a flop. I'm sure there will an invite in the future to go again, and I'll probably accept once more. The next time to try the Cheese Steak. But if the cold hoagie is any indication; it's not looking good. For better or worse, I will update this review after I try the Cheese Steak. I gave it one star for the waffle fries. As it now stands - avoid Mr. Spots."

"Closest to Philly cheesesteak in OH! Soft chewy roll was amazing. Chili cheese fries were delicious and had plenty to share. Will try the firesteak next time. 2/23 Update- still delicious but would like to see the roll filled up with meat and cheese for the price."
