"I visited years ago pre-Covid. Ive wanted to return ever since but I moved abroad and it’s a very long plane trip. Nonetheless, I have it on my Google Maps to return. The fabric was gorgeous. The owner was everything you would want the owner of a fabric store to be. The prices were reasonable for the exquisite fabrics that he carries. I highly recommend that if you are ever within the state of Florida or the south that you get to the store, if you are a person who sews garments, especially if you want some special pieces for your stash."

"This place is a fashion sewist’s dream and well worth the trip. Each room is filled with designer fabrics from Italy, France, NYC and beyond. I thought the prices were more reasonable here than what you’d find for similar fabrics in the Garment District in New York. Very friendly and knowledgeable owner. I love the fact that they also offer classes, and while I was in town I took advanced patternmaking classes with Susan, who really knows her stuff. The store works hard to foster a sense of community with local fashion sewists by hosting a monthly Show & Share session. I really wish there was a Pennie Fabrics in my area!"

"I found my Happy Place. My first visit to Pennie Fabric but will not be my last. Tampa Bay has no decent apparel fabric shops and this place was worth the hour trip. Online shopping is touch-and-go. Nothing beats being able to actually touch the fabric and feel the drape. I will definitely be back. Nasir is one of those old school New York fabric sellers. He very knowledgeable and shares willingly. The prices were fabulous for the quality of fabric he carries. Silk, Mohair, Wool, you name it. And he carries a LOT! I was pretty lucky and had him all to myself. He even rolled my fabric on rolls for me. Highly, highly recommend the place. Worth a special trip if you are passing anywhere near Sarasota."
