Captain Rob took us out for the day and made the experience by pointing out cool spots and showing us all around. Great boat to enjoy a nice day, music and some beer. "First let me say, that Captain Rob is a very friendly, knowledgeable, humorous, flexible, fun and happy person. My family and I really enjoyed spending time with him on our charters. We have been on Broken Compass Charters several times over the last couple years. Each time, Rob made sure that we arrived properly prepared to enjoy a full day of fun on the water, docking at a cool island bar, anchoring 10 feet off Sanibel or Captiva, or eating lunch at Cabbage Key. When we arrived to start each charter, Captain Rob had already evaluated the weather at each possible destination, so we knew what to expect at each of his optional destination cruises. My family’s favorite Captain Rob cruise is when we depart from Tarpon Point around 9:00am, cruise north up the Intercoastal Waterway, past Sanibel, and Captiva, arriving at Cabbage Key just east of the northern tip of Captiva. We arrive at Cabbage Key around 10:30-11:00AM. There we have a lunch that consists of 1-2 pounds of Stone Crabs as an appetizer (only found in Florida), then we eat the famous Jimmie Buffet Cheeseburger for lunch, and of course several cool beverages. Then after lunch, or while we are waiting for a table, we will take a tour of the island to see the giant turtles, water tower and landscape. The view from the restaurant is priceless. Next, we reboard the boat, and Captain Rob takes us about 10 minutes farther north, to the SW bottom of North Captiva Island, where he will anchor us about 10-15 feet from the most beautiful beach/sand in the world. The water there is only 2-3 feet deep when you leave the boat. Captain Rob has floats so you can float in the water while enjoying your favorite beverages of choice. You can also walk up and down the beautiful beach, or just sit there and enjoy the company of your group members and Captain Rob. Around 2:30pm or so, we would reboard the boat again, this time for serine cruise back down the Intercoastal Waterway to Tarpon Point where we started. I have taken business associates, customers, friends and my family on Broken Compass Charters and all agree, that it is a new and wonderful experience each time. I can’t finish without mention all the dolphin sightings we have had on Broken Compass Charters, as he knows where the dolphins typically hang out and are most likely to be. Some coming to within one (1) foot of the boat, so close you can almost touch them. I highly recommend Broken Compass Charters, you won’t regret it!"
