Westwood Reserve Apartments

"There are pros and cons of living here. Apartments are spacious with tall ceilings, and the location is good. That's about it for the pros. Prices are not cheap, but they would be worth it if this community kept some types of normal standards when it comes to safety, cleanliness, and the up-keeping of common areas. The complex is poorly managed. It's loud and dirty, and nobody does anything about it. I find trash sitting around my apartment all the time and nobody picks it up. The pool is trashed, always dirty, and outdoor furniture is broken. There are constant loud parties there with crowds of people who yell and play loud music till late night hours. Multiple speakers, charcoal grills, glass, etc. You might as well rent something in Ybor City. The kids play ground is a dump. Dog park is overgrown, and there's holes in the fence. I asked multiple times to fix it, but it's been five months, and apparently it's too difficult to do. Gates are always broken. They are always "waiting for parts". People from outside the complex keep coming in and using the pool, etc. I've seen a homeless person bathing in the pool bathroom. Police interventions a few times. People don't pick up after their dogs. They let them off the leash. I call the office and they never do anything about it. When you talk to them they are alway very nice, but they literally never do anything about it, so why bother? As a resident you can never relax and enjoy the amenities, because the management never does anything about enforcing their own rules or trying to improve or sustain little things that would make living in this community safer, cleaner, and more peaceful."

"Leasing Office: Assistant Manager Claudia is completely unprofessional. I have recently moved to this complex and encouraged my relatives to move here as well. As of right now I have 3 apartments rented by my relatives and they have all had horrible experiences with this assistant manager Claudia. Rude behavior lack of customer service skills. I think GCI residential should reevaluate the staff they select to represent their company in the leasing office. I think anyone in management should have the skill set to deescalate scenarios of unhappy customers/tenants. Unfortunately this associate does not show this managerial skillset needed for this position. I hope someone could observe and actually read this complaint and take the necessary action needed to rectify behavior and representation. From Claudia’s words expressed today, “if you’re unhappy here maybe you should not renew your lease” I think it’s time my family and I take this consideration to heart. We can easily live and pay rent elsewhere. Thank you."

"It's always unbearably hot in the fitness center 1, 85 degrees fahrenheit, and the number 8 is taped up. Are you kidding me? Fix the air conditioning in the gym. It's always dirty and smells damp. Black air ducts that are never cleaned. The gym always reeks of chemicals. You can get poisoned. I don't understand why people pay rent here if the living conditions are not up to par."

"We moved 2500 miles across country from the west coast to Westwood Reserve in Tampa and the staff, especially Amarelys Perez, made everything so easy. We easily completed all the paperwork, background check, credit check remotely with her assistance. She went out of her way to help us get into our apartment when we arrived after hours (8pm) on a Friday. Amarelys made us feel very welcome, we love our new apartment home."

"Our leasing agent, Amarelys, has been incredibly helpful throughout the moving process. She is very responsive and takes care of our questions and problems immediately. She has been great! Our unit is clean, spacious and a great location."
