Gulf View Waterfront Resort

"The location is nice. You can’t really swim here because of the seaweed but it’s still a beautiful location and convenient being half way on the keys. My toddler loved the pool! It’s heated and clean also with a nice view. My husband liked fishing off of the dock. I reserved last minute so there was no rooms available for 2 nights, but they kindly reserved us another room for the second night for the same price. Both rooms were good for us. The hotel is a little dated but it was clean and comfortable. The washing machine and dryer didn’t seem to work well. The front desk service was great and fortunately we did check in during business hours, they kindly even let us check in a bit early."

"Not nearly as nice as what the website or some of the reviews would suggest. The room smelled like an extremely strong perfume or air freshener that did not dissipate; I couldn't find the source of it, but I'm guessing it was meant to cover up other smells. The walls are thin. We spent a good chunk of the evening and night listening to a couple repeatedly arguing off and on, but all the staff goes home at 5pm, so there was no one to call to address the issue. The shower curtain fell down while my friend was taking a shower."

"Do not recommend! We are in the keys on business and decided to make a weekend out of it. Definition of resort is A resort hotel is a hotel which often contains full-sized luxury facilities with full-service accommodations and amenities. Not even close. Horrible customer service. Not only did we have to wait for someone twice during "open hours" NO ONE called us back after leaving a message after hours. We were here for 3 days. I have attached pictures of how we had to try and watch the TV. Had to unplug and plug 1 TV and play with remotes and TV to even get it to work. Holes in blankets old rooms with cracks in walls. Freezer ran constantly. The trash bin outside the rooms FULL all weekend. Beware pictures on website very deceiving!"

"We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff was accommodating after we added an additional night and had to move rooms due to the original room being booked. It was a very quiet, peaceful but simple hotel with the necessities. They have a paddle board & 2 kayaks for you to use. As well as hammocks, corn hole, tetherball, grills, and a few picnic type areas. Pool is very nice and warm. The office hours are 9-5 so you must know staff will not be on site and if you plan to arrive after 5pm you do a self check in. Overall great time here, and great mid way distance down the keys. driving distance to the restaurants in marathon, and coffee down the road at Georgies. I would agree with some of the reviews about possible safety issues as we also had rooms with sliding glass doors as the main entrance/door although we felt safe! Lots of lights around the building."

"We normally stay at resourt style hotels but due to Key West prices we decided to stay out of town. Glad we did because it turned out to be a fantastic experience. Clean and comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Met all our expectations and planning on returning in the future."
