"The location of the property was alright. It was in a quiet neighborhood. The nearest stores were about a 15 minute walk such as Starbucks. However, the property’s cottage had insects specifically, in the kitchen cabinets. The mattress was extremely poor quality and uncomfortable. It caused me back and shoulder pain. Free internet was available. Yet, it continuously disconnected. The washer and dryer were not so bad. Although, they were a shared unit and could only be used with money. A disadvantage considering that the property didn’t provide housekeeping services. The property did have kitchen utilities available but most of them were old and unusable. The stove in the kitchen partially worked. There was only one AC in the property, which was a window unit. The kitchen did not have an AC. The price per night was not reasonable considering all the factors."

"It is an amazing place to stay. Flexible, enough room. All other commercial hotels are missing out on what the cottages excels at. Privacy and peacefulness. 10/10 would recommend anyone to stay here!"

"My stay was good. The location was perfect…it was close to almost all the major attractions in Miami, and having a full kitchen was nice. The only thing I was unhappy about was that everything in the house was dirty, from kitchenware to the floor. I would walk around barefoot and after 5 minutes my feet were black. All of the pots and pans looked like they weren’t washed or rinsed after each use. Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay at Cottages El Portal. I recommend staying here, I just feel that housekeeping could spend a little more time in each room!"
