Visitors can learn about birdwatching opportunities in the park, the importance of Everglades restoration for the park's birds, and more. The Coastal Prairie Trailhead is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts looking to explore the rich biodiversity of the Everglades National Park.

"Trail Conditions for 12/27/2023 Trail is muddy at the beginning but is in 4+ inches of water after the first quarter of a mile. It’s truly a beautiful trail but isn’t dry except probably after January? The trail follows the section of the Old Ingraham Highway that went between Flamingo and what is now Clubhouse Beach, where a clubhouse had existed pre-NPS era. There are no restrooms at the trailhead but some are available in the A and T loops in the campground. Parking is minimal at the trailhead since it’s in the old and overgrown portion of the old C Loop campground."
"Beautiful !!! one of my favorite trails in all of south Florida. It’s three hours to get there and three hours back total of six hours. Even during the dry season it’s still wet. Lots of beautiful tortoises and diamond back rattlesnake’s. Trail head located at the back end of campground C pass the flamingo marina. A three hour hike to the very tip of Florida. Beautiful beach, I love this trail "
"This was a challenging hike but rewarding. Started at 6AM, before light and trucked it fast to the end due to time constraints. Interesting, varied terrain ending at the coast. Being the dry season, bugs were not a problem at all and mud flats were pretty dry except for deep mud right at the end before the beach. Finished the out-and- back trail in about 4.5 hours."
"The trail is long and we didn't make it all the way but it offers a nice view of the costal forest and prairie with dead woods. Enjoy the trail as long as you want, much of the trail is similar scenery so you don't need to hike it completely to enjoy. We had no mosquitoes in late January."
"This trail is quite long and offers little to no shade. Bring plenty of water if hiking to the clubhouse beach because the heat and humidity will get you. The trail is full of orchids. I would say that 80% of the trees that have bromeliads growing on them have orchids also.Too bad none of them were blooming. I might check the trail again in the future once i figure out when those orchids bloom. Try hiking in winter so you don't encounter mosquitoes or mud."
