"This was the first time I had been in since the new owners were there. I enjoyed going before as is the case now. Only thing is I can't find a couple of things that I used to purchase here. But they have an awesome variety of things especially hard to find items. When I couldn't find an item they did help me look for it. Very nice and interactive with the customer. N in regards to ppl asking in previous comments about the ethnicity of the owners and the customer service. It's really inappropriate to ask that sounds a bit questionable to me. If u have an issue on ppl of color go somewhere else."

"Good prices. Open most holidays. Some of the merchandise is very very old. I was able to buy a meat thermometer and a turkey baster on Thanksgiving Day. The only problem is most of them the rubber part was dry rotted. I took it back and they exchanged it for one that wasn't dry rotted no problem. If you're looking for something household or otherwise that's hard to find check them out they might have it. Guys that work there usually have decent attitudes and are helpful. If you get by their check them out"

"My first time here under new ownership. Horrible and unfriendly customer service!!! I let the customer service clerk put back EVERYTHING that I was considering purchasing. I greeted the employee at the register and he did not really respond. I asked him 3 times how his day was going,with a smile, because I was actually concerned for him. On the 3rd attempt he said it was going "ok, it's a normal day," and clearly was not interested in having any interaction with a customer. I asked him out of curiosity what his ethnicity was, because I work with Indians and he sounded maybe a little Indian, or possible Middle Eastern, but he also spoke Spanish when he sold lottery cards. His reply, "What does it matter?" which is fair enough. I said it doesn't matter, I'm just curious and I asked him again. He said well, you said it does not matter so it does not matter. Then he said, "This is a business - if you want something I sell you something otherwise you can leave. Mind you, from the beginning of my interaction I had a smile on my face and was being friendly, and he never once cracked a smile or attempted to be friendly in any way. I had earlier asked him if he was the owner and he said no, so I would like to come back and possibly buy some merchandise, but only when the owner is present and this man is NOT. I don't know his name, but he is tall, dark, medium build and wears a heavy gold chain. I hope this review will help the owner take a look at customer service and consider some employee coaching, or... replacing. My experience was VERY POOR!"

"I tell you what do you want some good sandwiches freshly made ask the boss man to make you one I couldn't believe the size of the sandwich and what comes with it at a low cost sure does beat Subway One Stop Dollar Store on Wabash Avenue has the lowest price around this area on your tobacco products and then some the store is fascinating can't stop looking not sure about something just ask little lady at the register will be glad to help. The store may look small on the outside OMG wait till you get inside a variety of products at a low cost far too much to explain what's there I was fascinated from the first time I walked in the store oh how many years ago... they do very good business has people like me like spreading the word. So y'all come check it out it's like being a kid in a candy store so many unique items and at a low cost"
