""Be kind to retail workers this holiday weekend" But what happens when retail workers are unhelpful, not kind and clearly doesn’t care about their customers? On Christmas Eve I called Ulta beauty located in Apopka FL at 5:20pm(They close at 6pm today) with a question. A woman answered the phone. I started by saying “Hello, I have a question. I’m not sure if you can answer my question or if I need a manager but I bought a Valentino fragrance on black Friday and today I’m giving this fragrance to a woman and I need to confirm It’s a female fragrance or if it’s a mans cologne. If it is for a male I need to return it but I don’t have a receipt. They replied with “We don’t sell Valentino male fragrances here. If you don’t have a receipt, you can still return it” I then replied with “Are you sure you don’t sell valentino men fragrances there? Because I looked it up online and it’s coming up as a male fragrance. If I give you the wic number can you just confirm I didn’t make a mistake? They replied with “ I’m busy. I cant help you. I will put you on hold” with the way they worded that to me I started to immediately get dressed because I knew they had no intention of helping me. After 10 minutes of being on hold. (I’m already on my way to the store at this time) Someone picked up the phone and hung up on me! I called back right away and talked to the manager Charlie. He was very kind and helpful. I walked in a moment later and Charlie was behind the register helping a customer. A woman upfront ringing people up with colorful hair gave me the strangest look(I assumed that must be her, I could be wrong but she gave me this weird not nice smirk) Charlie helped me get the new fragrance. He told me he talked to Vicki(This is how I found out the name of the person who talked to me and she said she called a manager but they never picked up(I don’t know if I really believe that because Charlie answered the phone right away when I called back. So how was he not informed by her someone was on the phone waiting.) He then told me she wasn’t sure if they sold male fragrances from that brand. That’s an excuse. She should have asked someone since I clearly was asking this specific question because I needed an answer and she very confidently answered with “No, we don’t sell that” She told me twice! People make mistakes, I understand that. The night I bought that fragrance I made a mistake by thinking it was for a female. I actually had this amazing employee named flower help me buy a few things. He didn’t even realize it was a male fragrance when he knew we were shopping for a female. Mistakes happen, even on busy days(That was black Friday when I bought that) But by her telling the guest “I’m busy. I cant help you” there is no excuse for that. That’s not just poor use of words. That’s ridiculous. Yes, its Christmas eve, yes they were busy but not slammed when I got there. It took one minute to put me in the right direction by transferring me to a manager instead of clearly hanging up on me after I waited 10 minutes. So I ask you, if customers are known to be extra mean on holidays to employees who don’t deserve it. Why is it ok for employees to treat customers like that? This is not just a training issue. This was just an attitude issue where this person clearly did not care to help."

"Customer service is SERIOUSLY lacking at this particular store. I worked for a long time in the luxury hospitality industry as well as food & beverage industry and now the legal industry so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to customer service. Had to make 4 rounds through store before I was even able to locate an employee.... when I found someone, I waited my turn as she was talking to another customer, when she was done she turned around and walked away and went behind the registers as if she hadn't seen me which was impossible, I was standing right in front of her. When I finally found another employee.... mind you I'm in the store 20 minutes now.....even before I finished saying excuse me & finished my question & he interrupted & said I'm sorry I'll be back. He walked away & never came back. I gave up, and purchased only 3 lipsticks although I had planned on spending quite a substantial amount more. The last straw was the cashier, Vicky, who looked like someone pissed her off. No greeting just asked for my number which I automatically rattled off without thinking. I immediately told her I don't have membership. She didn't acknowledge my comment & asked for my name. I told her I didn't want membership. She said why, it's free. I told her I understand but I don't want it, I won't be returning. She then handed me my bag, holding it by the edge of one side, while looking in the other direction like she had enough of me. I wished her a good evening and she mumbled something back while looking down. I wasn't going to write this review thinking perhaps they're understaffed & overworked and it is the holiday season but then I went to pick up food at Sprouts in the same plaza. When the cashier noticed my bag from Ulta she immediately said ughhhhhh I never go there, the employees have such bad attitudes. THAT confirmed EVERYTHING for me and here I am writing this review. I wish I had gotten the names of the other employees..... the guy should be pretty easy to single out as he had gorgeous long black hair & impeccable makeup. Edit: Stopped to read other reviews. I see this is a consistent issue at this store. I should've gone to Sephora in Altamonte as usual instead I decided to give this store a shot because it was so close to Errol. NEVER AGAIN. Sad that I can't support a local store."
