"positive surprise! close to the beach, close to several of restaurants. but also quiet enough to sleep. AC unit was also not to loud. only they should find a way to make it possible to cover the windows in the bedroom, because its not really dark (the whole night..) the rooms are clean."

"Update: the GD smoke detector has a dying battery, so it's been chirping for 2 hours... If you read my other reviews, I don't often give anyone a 1 star. Please consider what that means when I say I would give them negative 10 stars, if I could. This is the dirtiest, least cared for property in which I've ever stayed and they add $40 in hidden fees at checkin. (details below) Bar none, 0 out of 10 stars and I would not recommend my worst enemy staying here. I do not recommend Hollywood By The Sea Hotel to anyone, for any reason. Starting off with the fact the address listed (320 Nebraska Ave) ISN'T where you check in, the phone rings to a line that's never answered, so you basically get to wander around until you (hopefully) find the office. When I found the main office TWO BLOCKS AWAY (2 blocks south off Ocean) , I realized they deliberately have the ringers turned off at the check in counter. At check on, they bonk you over the head with an extra $20 in fees for a "resort tax" and another $20 for parking. They have forty dollars in hidden fees. Neither of those fees were disclosed at the time of booking, but once you receive a confirmation email, they fine-print a "$17.50 resort fee". Then there's the actual room. In a word: gross. I've attached pics and if Google will let me post a video I'll share that, too, but it's disgusting. This room is disgusting and unclean. The walls have blistering paint, there are cracks all over, someone wrote on the walls in several places with what looks like a pen or pencil, THERE'S A HOLE IN THE SOFA, the floor is buckling in places, the refrigerator is dented and rusted, and on and on and on. They need to sell the property, take their money, and never get back into the hospitality industry again. 0 of 10 I would not recommend Hollywood By The Sea Hotel to anyone, at any price."

"Stayed here last weekend. It was decent. Spacious rooms and cold AC. they say free parking on their website, but it’s not free. You have to pay $20 a day. If you want an affordable spot by the beach, take it"

"This is worst place I ever seen. Just checked in take a look on that garbage and left. Room was poor and dirty. Door lock was broken. That place wasn’t feel safe. Don’t waste your time and money. They charge for two days but I even didn’t stay 30 min. Scammers"

"Hotel is quite worn down. You get what you paid for. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay very very near the beach (literally 2 min walk) this is the place. Bed is good."
