Grand Beach Hotel Surfside West

"Pictures on google very deceiving. Most pictures are from the hotel across the street. This hotel has basically no lobby. And besides the rooftop pool there are no amenities. rooms are very subpar. Lobby and hallways are quite dirty. Room 223 the flooring is coming up. Mold on outdoor furniture. This isn't a house keeping issue. Staff and front desk are very sweet and work hard. It's just not a well kept hotel. Yes, it's cheaper than across the street but still very expensive for what you are getting. Good location and rooftop pool and beach across the street are nice!"

"I loved the rooftop pool so much more than the main pool. We had our little one with us so we couldn’t go up to the rooftop pool in the main hotel. If they add a bar to the rooftop pool in west, I think it would make it more worth our while. But otherwise, the room was so spacious, we loved every area!"

"I would definitely not recommend this hotel, horrible customer service I was not able to get in touch with the manager for two days ! Our door would not close for 2 days,amenities are horrible ,dirty, grimy.The pool area is disgusting. My daughter could’ve got electrocuted if my husband didn’t hold her back from jumping into the pool !!They had electric wires in the pool ( see pictures)That’s a safety factor that could’ve been fatal !! The lounge chairs are filthy! I sat on one it was broken I sunk in the sand I really could’ve hurt myself! The bottom of the pool is cracked you can cut yourself ! We had no access to beach towels at 10 am for 2 hours we had to finally find the cleaning lady and get some towels! They pour bleach shock and chemicals in the pool while people are using the pool, which is definitely not safe! That should be done first thing in the morning or late at night! This hotel is falling apart. I’ve been coming for many years, but I will never step foot inside again !!! They lost my business! Grand beach hotel needs new management this is unacceptable!! Safety should be your 1st priority clearly it’s not !!"

"Update: hotel has been very responsive. I have yet to book a second stay but they are trying to resolve which is great. Original Review: If you are looking for a one night stay, do not stay here. Pillows and bed were great but didn't outweigh the other challenges. The computer system didn't work at check in. The cable internet was spotty and kept going in and out on both TVs in the room. Called room service 3 times no answer. Front desk had to call for me for them to answer. And at 9am the next morning, the room next to me, had construction! Banging hammer construction floor panels! No compensation for problems. Had to remind staff at check in and check out of discount code I used from their own website. Front desk did the best they could with the limited authority they have: the issue is clearly at the management and corporate level."
