"Smell in the room was terrible. Noise of the fridge similar to diesel engine. Conditioner was working on its own rules buttons on it are useless and they was for illumination only. Noise from it was greater then fridge. I had to change two times towels with stains but get towels with less stains. Magically, but linen was like brand new. Hotel location is great."

"THEY STILL HAVE NOT SENT ME MY REFUND. DO NOT USE AGODA TO BOOK. The room was not clean and I requested a refund which the owner agreed to. But when my bank and Agoda asked about the refund they denied it! SCAM BEWARE"

"I don't know how to rate this place as it has both PROS and CONS. the CONS first But FIRST EVEN MORE. You have to check in at the Carolina! Not at the Charter House. Its only 5 minutes away, but go to the Carolina FIRST. There is an extortion fee that you have to pay on top of your stay per day. I booked through Expedia and was surprised I was being asked for more money. Asked what the fees were for, I got a mumbled and inaudible answer. So either pay the fee or lose your room minus cancellation fees, and good luck finding someplace to stay right there and then for the economic price you paid. There is no reception until 11 or 11:30 so you have to wait for them to open up. Thankfully there is a place you can sit outside and wait, but if you are coming off a cruise like I did and get there at 9:30 am, it's a long wait. And hopefully other people are not waiting either or you will be standing for the duration until they open up. But it gets worse. Check in time is at 3 pm. But the GOOD news is, you can still check in and they have a place where you can store your luggage and you can go wander on the boardwalk until 3 pm. Its a 2 minute walk to the beach boardwalk. I had a special parcel that I did not want to leave in a room so the owner (I believe she was the owner) was kind enough to store it elsewhere. So now the room. Well the ONLY TWO things wrong here. There was NO SHAMPOO. There was soap, but shampoo... Forget about it. And I guess because I was in a corner, I had NO WI FI in my room. I had the Wi Fi out on the balcony. So I spent a lot of time on the balcony where there was a small table and a chair that really was not nice on the back after a while. So that is my rant on the Cons The Pros the AC was working and it worked great. The room was spacious and the bed was King size I believe. I did sleep well in it and my son slept on the other half. The place was clean. There was a kitchen, microwave, toaster, and a fridge. So going to the grocery store is only a 10 minute bus ride to Publix. Check it out. There were some dishes and dish soap, so I was able to cook/microwave a few things, put some drinks and veggies in the fridge and saved a bundle from dining on the boardwalk for 3 straight days. The lock on the door was really solid. You need a keycode to get in. You don't even need to check out at the Carolina, just leave when you are supposed to and that's it. Though there were some disappointments, it was not a terrible experience either that I would not go back. Nobody is perfect. So I would probably go back next year."

"I would never stay here again. The place was not very clean and felt like none of the linens or towels were freshly cleaned. The place had windows that could not shut all the way and we got locked out on the first night. We got locked out of our room after going to dinner and we called the owner to get us into the room, but he just kept telling us to enter the door code. After 3 calls, he had a guy who seems to live in the hotel come with a key. I thought other posts about the owners being rude were just people being too touchy, but the owner yelled at me when I called back after he hung up on us twice and finally sent over help. The room smelt weird and the AC runs non stop because the bathroom window had a screw to prevent it from shutting and the closet to the room also was warmer than the central room. The whole place just made me feel gross. We only stayed there for a bed to lay on and a shower, but even for that, the place was not worth it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable to where we barely got any sleep. Also, the owners family had a party in the courtyard on one of the nights where the kids were screaming and yelling until at least 1:30am."

"Location to beach is amazing. Only a 15 second walk! Convenient to restaurants and fun. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable and air conditioning was efficient. Rooms need maintenance attention but it didn't bother me but it might bother some folks (broken items of room 11-curtain rods, screens, toilet paper holder, tiles, no hot water in shower)."
