The Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa

"I had to switch rooms 3 times when I checked in. The first room had used products ion the bathroom and the tub was filthy., The 2nd bathroom was even dirtier with mold growing in the tub. The 3rd room I was given was cleaner but when I went to shower, the water sprayed out the back of the shower head and soaked the bathroom floor. The lock on the sliding glass door for the patio is broken. Each floor they put me on had the unmistakable smell of marijuana. The restaurant at the hotel is closed Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday (the 3 days I am in town) so I had to drive to find someplace to eat. I tried calling the manager (who does not arrive to the hotel until after 10am) and his voicemail box is full so I was unable to talk with him about the experience. If you don't care about cleanliness, safety, getting a contact high, or having a convenient place to eat, then this is the hotel for you."

"The only good thing about this hotel is the extremely friendly staff and the view. The rooms are awful. When we first arrived, the toilet wasn’t working. They had someone come fix it very quickly. We left for a bit and came back and it stopped working again. The bathroom sink wasn’t draining at this point either. I noticed a few tiny bugs in the bathroom on this day, but didn’t think anything of it. They fixed the toilet again and the sink. The second morning we woke up getting ready to check out and multiple roaches were in the room. All coming from the bathroom, some big and some small. I have never felt so disgusted staying at a hotel. They gave us a partial refund on the second night, but they should have refunded the entire stay at that point. There is also misleading information on their menus at WTR Grill. Menus say happy hour is Monday-Friday and apparently the grill is closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Their small cafe is only open until 2 pm so if you want a drink or to eat on weekdays after 2, you’ll need to go somewhere else."

"I spent more time reviewing whether I was going to stay at this hotel than on many college exams. The reviews were kind of terrifying but actually the place was really nice and I slept well. I understand some rooms may have more updates than others. But they have absolutely gorgeous views and for the price you're getting a good deal. I slept well and the bed was comfortable. Free water and pretty decent gym for what I need. Nice walk over to whiskey Joe's. I wouldn't hesitate on staying here if you're on the fence. I really liked it and would come back"
