Brandon Equine Medical Center

"I have used Brandon Equine as my back up vet for years. When my vet doesn't have the equipment for what my horse needs she sends me BE. I have also been asked to bring one of my horses for demonstration use. Early November 2023, one of my horses was showing neurological signs and my vet sent me to BE. They did X-rays and gave a diagnosis of a bone fracture. My vet along with the vet at BE said steroids and antibiotics should fix the problem. At first my horse was getting better but early December he took a turn for the worst. I called my vet out to euthanize him but my vet was out of town and said call BE . The receptionist said I will get a call back. 6 hours later, I called again. The call that I got back , I was told that because my horse is not a wellness program horse they will not send someone out. I panicked. My horse was not able to move very well and he couldn't spend the night in the cold. Finally they did come out, and euthanized him, but did not sedate him and did not wait for me to be by his side. To say the least, I am disappointed. They have always been very good to me, but I was very let down at the care they gave this great horse in the end."

"Dr Broom and the two technicians were extremely knowledgeable and kind to us in this stressful situation with my boy Art, unfortunately the outcome was not what we were hoping for. I appreciate all of the kindness and support the staff gave us and the gentleness they treated Art with. "I love Brandon Equine, all the vets there have been amazing. I love Dr. Merren he is always very honest about what needs to be done, and always quick about figuring out treatment plans. Dr. Fowler has done my chiropractic work. She is always very nice and insightful. They are also quick to respond to emergencies. Whichever vet comes out, I always feel my horses are getting the best care."

"My horse was brought in to Brandon Equine on Sunday night by the owner of the barn I board at. I was on vacation at the time. The vets and staff quickly went to work on my horse. The vet was very clear on my opinions for my horse. He had a large tumor attached to his intestines and we either needed to do surgery or let him go peacefully. Thankfully the vet made it very clear that either option was a fair option for my horse. Even though we decided to euthanize him humanely they assured me he would be treated with love and respect. Being thousands of miles away was awful but knowing he was loved and cared for made a huge difference to me. They were also kind enough to save a portion of his tail. Thank you Brandon Equine for treating him with love and kindness when I could not."

"Dr Restifo is the best! She always shows authentic compassion for the patient, helps us to understand the situation, generous with taking time to explain follow help care and doesn't hesitate to answer all of our questions. I am also impressed that she will text back to follow up and tells us we can send her a picture for her to check its progress. I don't every want to take advantage of the fact that I feel I can reach out to her any time I need help or in doubt of one of our many horses but the fact that I feel comfortable enough to do that and get help makes me want to never go anywhere else!
