HCA Florida Heathrow Emergency

"Depending on the day, certain staff are excellent. Today’s visit, I had a caring Nurses and a Doctor who were compassionate, friendly, and professional. 5 stars for my visit this afternoon. Last week was not the same experience so I give it a 3 Tonight, a 2 stars and that’s because she picked up the phone and didn’t let it ring. I just called (12:30am) to ask about a side effect of a medication and the nurse didn’t really want to help me and was trying to rush me off the phone. The difference in the staff’s attitude is mind blowing especially because I was just there 8 hrs ago."

"Brought my elderly mother here for a fall as previous visit she was taken care of well. This time, however, was different as my mom needed to be transported to a hospital for further evaluation. This is where things turned south as we wanted mom to go to Adventhealth hospital, not the partner hospital in downtown Sanford. The night doctor and nurse were not happy about our request and even said they would have to withhold heart medicine if transported somewhere else which made no sense. They ended up giving her the medicine shortly after making their seemingly threat. We were told there were no beds available at any Adventhealth hospital in the greater Orlando area. This was very hard to believe! They told us we would have to wait maybe 11-20 hours for one to open up and then asked if we would just go to their Sanford hospital. Luckily, we were able to leverage some contacts in the industry and get a doctor at an Adventhealth hospital to accept her and get an open bed. The night nurse also would ask us to leave the room and go to the lobby whenever she needed to do anything with my mom which was very weird and I refused to do especially with her attitude toward us and seemingly trying to twist our arm to go to their hospital. The day doctor and day nurse were great or else I would have given only 1 star. Be careful especially if you might require overnight stay at a hospital and you don’t want to go to their partner hospital."

"My experience at this emergency room was amazing. I went down October the 20th and pain and they saw me right away. No wait time. I have one doctor to come in and check me and then later I had another daughter. They both was amazing and nice and had some good insight on different things they told me. But I appreciate the good service. Don't want to be sick but if this if I was to be sick again I will go here again and again. So thanks for the great service from the nurses, the patient experienced person. I love the way the rooms are set up. Very detailed on what's going on. Thanks"

"This is my second time here as a patient and the staff was wonderful both times!!! The facility is clean and organized. I got in right away both times. They are quick on their feet and attentive to your needs. This is my preferred ER!!! Thank you staff!"
