Dollar General

"Ive never had any issues at this Dollar General it’s one of my favorite locations in Punta Gorda everyone’s really friendly but this one woman who looked like the typical Karen had short black hair & glasses. She was very rude to me today. Let me mind you Im on my period, I didn’t want to be bothered. I came for tampons and a bunch of household essentials. Minding my business checking out at Self Check Out. Ive already bagged up items and she tells me “ma’am you need to come to my register, self check out is meant for only a couple items you have a cart full “ as if I’m some type of thief because I’m dressed in a baggy T-shirt I’m not looking my best because I’m on my period not because I’m a bum who doesn’t have any money trying to steal. The only reason I went to self check out is because I needed privacy even if she’s another woman I don’t feel it’s anyone’s business that I’m on my period, but I might as well make it public to Google now since she felt she needed to know my business by having me move to the register as I’m bagging my items. That’s why they created self check out, for privacy, or if you don’t feel like talking because of social anxiety which I also have. I love self check out. Even if you just feel like bagging it yourself, which I did. I was told it’s only meant for a couple of items which is not true there’s no rules to self check out so I feel I was being judged off of my appearance!! So rude"

"Actually my trip to Dollar general was much much better. I was having an issue with one of the employees being rude all the time but this time this person was very nice. Thank you that's all I ask. You don't have to always be so rude and unhappy and if you are customer service isnt the job for you."

"Store had no staff, website says there open and lights are on, the sliding door was open slightly but still locked it could’ve easily been opened if you really tried and there was no staff in the store. Very strange it seems somebody left this location unattended right around lunch time on a Wednesday it’ll be very surprising if they aren’t robbed. It also would’ve be nice if they left a sign on the door saying they were closed because a bunch of people kept getting out of there cars confused with the situation."

"Today was much better than has been the past few times I've been there. The store appeared more organized, the items did not have dust all over them, and the employees there were friendlier and more cooperative. Even when I asked if they had caffeine gum, the girl behind the register went to look for it, which surprised me because in the past they will just point to a direction and if I say "I don't see it " they'll always answer "well then we don't have it." So this is been a good experience for me and I hope it continues this way. Thank you"

"In my opinion this is one of the nicest Dollar Generals in the area. It was newly built and is a normal sized Dollar General that carry a wide variety of common household needs, foods, and goods. The parking lot structure is set up a little odd but that is only because it is built on a corner. Staff were all very nice and welcoming."
