"This was our first visit to this establishment, but certainly won't be our last. Our Podiatrist recommended Front Running Sports to us after my Wife was diagnosed with Planters Fasciitis. We arrived about 40 minutes before closing and were immediately greeted by April and Jim. April took care of my Wife, engaging with questions to help understand the symptoms and cause, and presented many options to help resolve the issue. The first thing April identified was that my Wife's shoe size was actually a half size bigger than what she normally wears. With that knowledge my Wife tried on at least a half dozen types of shoes from different brands, and with each pair, April payed close attention to my Wife's gait and feedback. I could tell that April was gauging if each shoe was the right fit or not, reminding my Wife that it's more about comfort than style. April was very patient with my Wife, focused on helping her find the right pair of shoes to help relieve her discomfort. During this time, I had joyful conversations with Jim, who I found to be a very polite and wise man. I gained a lot of respect for Jim. My Wife eventually landed on a pair of Brooks GTS 22's and an upgraded insert. We also bought a pair of Oofos sandals for her indoor use since we have tiled floors. The entire visit was welcoming and positive. We were very impressed by April's knowledge with foot disorders, the best types of shoes and inserts available for such disorders, and we left (30 minutes past closing) more educated and happier than we came. My Wife had shared an initial concern with me after leaving, that we had spent more than she was initially planning to for our visit. I told her to think of it as an investment with actual tangible results, if it helped to relieve her foot pain. As we went to dinner and the evening progressed, I noticed her paying attention to peoples shoes, so I started too. When we ended up sitting across from three ladies (also waiting to be seated for dinner), we noticed two of them wearing Brooks. I asked the ladies wearing the Brooks if they liked their shoes, and their responses that they would never buy anything else helped a little to alleviate my Wife's financial concerns on her initial investment. However when I pulled up the Amazon app and showed my Wife that we actually payed less for the exact same pair of shoes and inserts, she smiled and I could tell she was totally pleased with the purchase. As we are no longer spring chickens, I think my Wife and I learned a very important lesson throughout this experience and April helped to reinforce it: We need to invest in ourselves for the long term and that the right pair of shoes for daily wear can mean a world of difference in our later years. Having someone knowledgeable to help you identify what you need, like April, is even more important because selecting and wearing the wrong pair of shoes can increase your risk of developing plantar fasciitis or worse."
