"I will start with this, Dr. Unger is the best fit for our family, and we have been attending with my daughter for over a year. I highly recommend her to families with teenaged children. I can only speak about my experiencs with my daughter. So those of you with sons my feel differently, and I can understand why, trust me, but we could not ask for better for our daughter. When I first came with my daughter to see Dr. Unger I was not receptive to her message. I had been through several other therapist and was frustrated that, "I as a dad" is having to deal with yet another new face that "knows what's best "for us. So as any parent trying to figure out the new person talking to your kid, I questioned EVERYTHING she was saying. She seemed offended from my line of questioning, almost like how dare I question her judgement, but looking back on it, i would have done the same thing if I was her. As things progressed over a few more sessions, and we talked over the situation we started to see things eye to eye. I became receptive to her and started implementing things that were asked of me toward my daughter. One thing is for sure, Dr. Unger has helped my daughter's self-esteem issues and outlook on life. My kid has done a 180 and we are so proud of her. I'm glad I did not give up on Dr.Unger helping my kid. At this point , 1 year later, i look at her advice as something a straight shooting grandmother would tell you. you won't always like it but it's probably for the best. Good luck to you all,as our kids are our legacy."

"Speaking as the afore mentioned "one teenager," I can most definitely say that Dr. Unger helped me resolve personal issues in a way no one else could have. I became a stronger person - more confident in myself. She helped me find the strength that was in me all along, the courage to stand up for myself. She most certainly deserves the respect due to a doctor, and anyone who says otherwise only speaks out of bitterness. She won't break your trust as a client or give away anything you've said to your crazy mother who calls her behind your back, demanding to know what you've said. She's a great listener, and that doesn't end when you stop paying her - she keeps in touch. She cares."

"Unger (doesn't have the respect of an actual doctor) never tried to help our family. She only listened to one teenager's side and made her own judgements which she acted on very rudely and unprofessional. If you want your family to benefit don't see this woman."

"I went to Dr Unger for a family therapy session and was extremely disappointed. I believe she tried in the best way she knew how to help us resolve our issues. Unfortunately, with my experience, I don't think that she is very knowledgeable about mental health as a whole. She was very pushy with religion and wasn't as knowledgeable on Christianity as she claimed to be. At one point I brought up a story from the Bible and she told me "You need to go back to Sunday school." I told her I was very offended by the statement and her response was a condescending chuckle followed by an arrogant smirk. I went home and re-read 2 Samuel 11-27 and it turns out I was correct and she was wrong. Uriah was one of King David's Mighty warriors and not an enemy as she claimed him to be. She told us to bury our emotions and that they weren't important. We should forget about the past and move on. How are we supposed to move on if we don't talk about the past and how it makes us feel? Burying our emotions is what brought us here. She was very biased against my brother and I, and I believe it was because we do not think or believe the same way she does. She tried to play down our feelings and make us feel inferior to her, it did not work. This made it very difficult for us and had we not been a strong family and talked about the session afterwards it would have been worse than when we went in. I would strongly recommend going to someone else for realistic and helpful counseling. Do not expect to get positive results unless you are exactly like she is. If I could say anything to Dr Unger it would be this, "I forgive you of your manipulative hateful remarks and bias towards my brother and I, and I highly encourage you to read your bible from start to finish instead of choosing the sections that your preacher talks about in church so that no one is offended by the true word of God. Please realize that the people who come to see you have lives and feelings and the things you say can severely damage weaker minds. If you are going to be a Christian counselor you should be a lady and Christ like. May you find the courage and the strength to look favorably upon the sick and suffering as Jesus did, instead of playing with their emotions.""
