"If i could give a zero star i would. I am the caregiver to my 83 year old grandmother. She does have health issues but we manage and for the most part has a good quality of life. We have taken her to the hospital plenty of times, and i have never had such a horrible experience.I have never met such incompetent health care workers. When we arrived, rushing and a little scared due to my grandmothers chest pain she was crying about, and the vomiting, we were met with security guards who were not helpful and then made side comment because of how we were parked. My grandma needs a wheel chair where else was i suppose to park. It took forever to get one, but once we were in the staff was even worse. We got to the front desk were we told the lady our urgency, she directed us to get a clip board and go into the double doors. Were then the nurse told us they cant help us even though we were told to do so. He walked us back to the front desk where the lady then said she never told us that. By then i was extremely angry. So i called the lady out and then we were having a full blown argument she got very loud and yelled at me. I was yelling as well because of my frustration and my fear of what was happening to my grandmother, and the lack of help and urgency this staff had. I know we are not special but some cases require faster attention than others. Since i got to the hospital i had to do everything on my own. It seems like if you don't arrive in an ambulance, they don't think it's urgent. An elderly woman who cannot walk, is crying in pain with a heart problem should always be taken seriously. I'm disgusted by the staff members especially the lady at the front desk. Worst hospital i have been to in my life. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I'm grateful we were able to take her to another hospital close by and was treated. They are lucky nothing happened to her because i would have gotten my lawyers involved. WORST HOSPITAL."

"My father was here for a week and there were some wonderful nurses and CNAs that did the best they could BUT every patient needs a friend or family member with the patient to be their advocate. My father had not eaten or drank anything for 4 days and I had to tell them he needed fluids because he was dehydrated. A doctor only came on 2 occasions (2 times in 7 days? Crazy!) to see him so I had to ask nurses and CNA questions and they would reach out to doctors. I could see them roll their eyes whenever I had a question so I felt like I was a pain, but no one took enough time in the room to answer questions so I had to seek them out. Communication needs to improve. Nurses no longer have time to nurse, they have to jump from one patient to the next and it’s hard for them to see everything going on. Then they told me only 2 hrs before that they were transferring him to a rehabilitation center and I asked why when he had a seizure that day? I asked for the doctor to call me. She was not told about his seizure or low, low blood pressure. She decided to keep him another night. Again, communication is lacking."

"When it comes to OB-delivering a baby. This place is good. When it comes to going to the emergency room… it’s a different story. Get ready to be treated like a number and not having your concerns addressed. I recently had to rush my husband to the ER due to abdominal pain that was spreading. I ran into the building and asked for a wheelchair and asked for help. The guy at the welcome desk directed me to the ER. I ran into the ER begging for help and asking for a wheelchair and the woman at the front desk wouldn’t even look at me she just said to go to the double doors… WHICH WERE LOCKED. Once I made it through THAT door… I ran to the nurses station and asked for help and explained what was happening. They sent some intern to search the hospital for a chair. They finally took my husband back and I had to park the car because we had our 7 month old with us… By the time I got back into the ER, my husband was pale and hanging out of his wheelchair in the middle of the hallway. I asked what was going on and the woman at the front desk raised her voice at me and said “We CANT do anything until someone fills out his paperwork…” she directed me to a table with forms and by then I was in tears. I filled out the paper work and handed it to her and said “my husband is deteriorating before my eyes. This is an EMERGENCY he needs to be seen!” She started to argue with me saying “EVERYONE that comes in here says they have an emergency! He needs to be evaluated by a nurse!” Any way… my husband ended up needing to have EMERGENCY ABDOMINAL SURGERY. Not to mention that not ONE nurse stuck a stethoscope to my husbands chest or abdomen post surgery. We’re talking about 6 shifts of nurses failed to check for bowel sounds or post operative complications Only go here if you’re literally about to die… actually… risk the trip to another hospital because they will probably let you die in the waiting room if you’re not able to fill your paperwork out."

"I had a medical emergency Wednesday morning and went to the ER at Palm Beach Gardens Hospital. I was experiencing extreme abdominal pain with fever, chill, and shakes. I sat in the waiting room for close to an hour before I decided to go to the window. They literally told me that they had thrown away my paperwork. They then took me to triage and sent me to a room to wait. I had an abdomen CT with contrast and an internal and external ultrasound, at which point they concluded that I needed to see an emergency OB/GYN. They do not have specialty doctors on staff, so I was transferred to their "sister" hospital, St. Mary's, in West Palm Beach. I have been an inpatient here since Wednesday and have not had any follow-up imaging. I have been pumped full of antibiotics, which are causing excruciating gas pain, and my fever is still elevated. I am a very healthy 46 year old, being pumped full of antibiotics 24/7 should have improved my condition, but the doctor refuses to do follow-up testing to determine why I'm not improving. St. Mary's does not have a doctor on staff at night. There is literally one doctor for the entire hospital, and the only time a patient is seen or images ordered is in an emergency (coding). The doctors who did see me were rude and condescending. I honestly don't feel like they care about their patients' comfort. They don't have enough nurses. It takes 15 minutes to get a hold of one. They don't have bottled water available. I imagine that this is what a jail hospital is like. On top of all those things, the place is absolutely dirty, it's disgusting. My room did not get cleaned the entire time I've been here. The nurse literally dumped camode all over bathroom and there was urine and diarrhea all over the floor and toilet seat. I just cleaned it up myself. There is trash all over the place. The bathroom was never cleaned. It is so unsanitary. And my 70 year old mother had to sleep on the floor because they didn't have an accommodation for her! That is unacceptable! I am transferring to Jupiter Medical tomorrow, AMA, and will never make the mistake of coming here ever again. I hope this review saves some folks the misery I have experienced the past few days. Please do not go to either of these hospitals if you can avoid it."
