Salt Shack on the Lake

"We ordered the fried shrimp basket and the grouper tacos with jicama slaw. There were 7 medium size shrimp for $22 and they were overcooked and dry. The fries were seasoned. The grouper tacos were excellent as was the slaw. Atmosphere is very nice and the waitstaff are very friendly."

"We arrived about 4:30 on Valentine's Day. We has to wait for about 10 minutes for a table. It was a little confusing where we were to check in since the side facing the path around the lake seemed so inviting an entrance. Check in was actually on the parking lot side of the building. Our server was very nice and tried to check in quite a bit, almost too much. We started with drinks, the margarita was well made. We ordered calamari for an appetizer and found it ok, nothing special. We wouldn't order it again. For an entree we had Island Grilled Chicken and Coastal Crab Cake. We both enjoyed our entrees, the broccolini was cooked perfectly. We left room for dessert and shared the key lime pie which had just the right flavors. We knew they recently opened so we kept that in mind. We hope they can get a better rhythm down in the kitchen. Our entrées arrived within 5 minutes of our appetizer. We barely had time to sit with our calamari and drinks and relax before the entrée arrived. Our table was in an awkward spot outside on the deck. It is at the corner of the bar and for 2 people it was ok but more than that would have been an issue. The bar was busy and between patrons and wait staff trying to get through, especially as people were ordering drinks from the bar, it was very hectic feeling. The management should reconsider this table placement. Given the newness of the place and that it was Valentine's Day, we would certainly give it another chance as the location overlooking the lake is nice."

"What a fun place in downtown Clermont. Located right on the lake with plenty of indoors and outdoors seating. Great menu options, mostly seafood but some others as well. Service was great, tasty food and great location. Loved the Yucca Fries Recommended!"

"What a strong breeze of fresh air to the Clermont downtown area! Everything was smooth, fairly quick and hot on the first night out of the gate! Gator bites and lobster bisque were amazing and tender. They were fully staffed with very nice people! Heaters on the patio kept us warm on a cool night. We feel like this will be a top contender for boat access restaurants for years to come. We will be back to try more! Keep up the good work!!"

"The Salt Shack On The Lake did not dissapoint last night! When we got there it was extremely busy, they said it would be an hour wait. They sent us a text so we could track where we were in line. It was exactly an hour, not a minute longer! During the wait, we sat out at the beach front area and watched the sunset, while waiters came around taking drink orders and delivered them to you. My daughter played in the sand for an hour while we relaxed, it was great! The food and drinks were on point, and the service was excellent! There wasn’t a kids menu, but I asked our waiter and they had a whole kids menu that wasn’t listed.. so make sure you ask! It was such a great night, and awesome experience. I highly recommend this new beautiful location. ❤️"
