Ramada by Wyndham Dothan

"We had an excellent and awesome experience staying at Ramada by Wyndham in Dothan. Our room was clean and brand spanking new! We had the extreme pleasure of dealing with Brian who was the property manager. Brian was courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, super friendly & an extremely kind person. Brian made sure that we had everything that we needed and even went above and beyond by making us feel like we were family. I would highly recommend Brian and Ramada by Wyndham in Dothan."

"Accessible room was a disappointment. The doorways were wide and shower had grab bars. No grab bars at toilet and beds were too high to get into. Bathroom grate did not have cover and a towel was stuffed in it. Only one roll of one ply toilet paper was disappointing The worst was the bed. The frames were wrapped in sheet metal and sounded like a garbage truck when ever anyone move in them. Room had little ventilation and were hot and stuffy. Reading lights were too high on wall. It goes without saying we got very little sleep. Signage was lacking and made hotel difficult to locate. Rooms were clean and front desk was friendly. Hopefully when the remodel is finished, they will fix all of these issues."

"Will stay here again. It’s like a 1 bedroom apartment set up. Everything was clean, bed was clean, bug free. Overall a great stay. I would suggest they add a trash can for the kitchen area but overall a good stay and we will stay again. Maybe put a ice machine at each building."

"Positives: The property is really converted apartments into a hotel so the rented spaces are large and comfortable. We loved the idea of a full kitchen and appreciated the new appliances but with no utensils, it was mostly useless. Loved the space to spread out. Negatives: We rented 2 rooms as we are a large family staying for the night and we were put in 2 separate buildings, nowhere near each other. That was not a huge issue, just annoying. Unfortunately, 1 "room" stunk so bad with stale cigarette smoke, we had to find a store to stock up on Fabreeze and attempt everything we could think of to air out the space. We had to kill 2 roaches in the bedroom area upon arriving (no droppings found, so this may have been an isolated incidence). The tv in the living room area didn't work. There was pen marks on many of the walls from presumably a previous guest. The blankets were dirty. The quick turn around that was done to convert the units to a hotel was lazy with messed up paint throughout and markings in the kitchen area. The couch was covered in stains that we were afraid to sit on it. (*The 2nd room we rented did not have these issues at all.) The people staying above us were so loud, late into the night. There was no sound buffer between us and them, nor the outdoors. We heard every car passing by at full volume. The blinds in the bedroom area did not block any light for sleeping (see photo attached of bright window in the middle of the night). The bed frames were cheaply made of a metal shell so they were loud and imitated sleeping in the bowels of a military navy ship. We did ask to get assistance with the smoke smell and get the TV fixed. We were told that there was nothing they could do. We were also unable to check into our second room until all parties had arrived (both rooms were booked by the same person). We also noticed that the peephole in the door was covered in paint and unusable. This was disturbing as there was another guest that was harassing us (nothing serious so didn't make a formal complaint, just kept an eye out for him). Also, the breakfast in the morning was basically a few bagels and some jam, so don't go in hungry and expecting a meal. All and all, it was a frustrating but mildly tolerable stay. Mainly due to the horrific lingering smoke stench that caused breathing issues, we will not ever be back."

"Booked this for my father-in-law. Desk clerk was very friendly. She made last minute arrangements to place him in a downstairs unit. The room was actually a 1 bedroom apartment and very spacious. He said the bed was extremely comfy. The TV in living room did not work, but bedroom did so he was satisfied. He also stated the housekeeper was friendly and very helpful. It is under construction, but nothing that effected his stay. His only complaint was cost of sodas in the lobby."
