"I'm only giving 2 stars because the techs in the store were actually very nice. It's more of a Best Buy corporate level issue. I spent 3 weeks without a phone and ZERO updates AFTER paying $600 upfront. The online service tracker is useless. All calls to store are rerouted to national call center and they cant help you at all with repair status so they just transfer you to the store which never answers (understaffed) and ends up rerouted back to call center. Very confusing and frustrating, would not recommend going here for phone repair"

"Terrible experience! I dropped off my macbook at Geek Squad just because the agent guaranteed that It would be ready in the maximum 3 weeks. Also, that the price of the service would be around the same price that the service at an Apple Store ($129). The deadline passed, nobody contacted me, I tried to contact multiple times by phone and I received no answer. I finally got an answer from the chat on the website and the agent said they would contact me on the next day to give me an update. Again, I received no contact back. I went there in person and the agent told me that they didn’t have any update and they could not give me any new deadline or do anything. After 5 weeks, the website updated saying that they had an diagnose and I had to call them too approve it. I called and the first agent said I would have to pay $223 plus the price I already paid ($84). I called again the next day because I got busy and the 2nd agent said that the only price I had to pay was $54 since I already paid $84 previously. I approved it. The website didn’t updated though. Today I decided to call again to confirm that it was approved. The 3rd agent said I had to pay $138 plus the $84 that I had paid. I did a previous diagnose on Apple Store last December and it would be $129 the amount for a battery replacement. So I don’t understand why Best Buy wants to charge almost 2 times the price of a battery replacement at Apple. Also, I don’t understand why each agent told me a different price, sounds like each of them works with different systems. I can’t approve any diagnose if nobody seems to know the right price. Nothing that was promised to me when I dropped of my laptop was made. So I am extremely disappointed. Hopefully I will not have problems anymore to receive both my MacBook and money back."

"Best buy/geek squad in or out of the store can not help answer your questions. They give you the run around. Had a tv delivered with an install and it took them 3 times. Would love to see a response from them because I have been waiting for 11 days."

"Put me on hold only to then get a recording to call back later. Based on other reviews I was Leary but don’t have a backup plan but now seems to just be a waist of my time and will look for a more reputable company to have home service on my stereo. Wish them all the best but not going to use them as even when I went in to see them they just waisted more of my time. I’ve purchased several high ticket items and was hoping they would consider that but they don’t."

"I could go on and on about how terrible my experience with the Geek Squad was. About how I got five calls from five different people giving me wildly different diagnoses about what needed to happen to my computer. They ranged from, it needs a new hard drive to you just need to reinstall the operating system to you're going to lose all your data to we can save all your data. About how I later learned that they had hired some random guy for a single day because they were slammed...and this was one of the guys who worked on my computer and gave me completely wrong information about how to fix it. About how I heard the consultants telling me and other people in line incorrect information and upselling them to more expensive repairs and service plans. About how after they finally determined they didn't know how to fix my computer, I arrived to pick it up and had to wait for 45 minutes just to retrieve my still-broken computer. And finally, about how Onyx Consulting in downtown Decatur had no problem at all fixing my computer and saving all my data for MUCH less money than the Geek Squad charged. Dealing with the Geek Squad was a huge head ache and a complete waste of time."
