"I typically buy 2-3 months worth of supplements here at a time to take advantage of Walgreens' Buy-One-Get-One deals. I bought 2 bottles of Walgreens' magnesium supplements. It took me about 6 weeks to finish off the 1st bottle. So, 6 weeks later, I opened my 2nd bottle for the first time, and found that the seal on the bottle was not attached. The bottle says "DO NOT USE IF INNER SEAL IS BROKEN OR MISSING", so I took it back to the store to exchange for a safe bottle. The cashier refused to refund or exchange since my receipt was 6 weeks old. She wouldn't do a "no receipt" return for exchange/store credit either. So, Walgreens sold me a damaged and potentially contaminated and unsafe product that says "do not use", and the cashier pretty much told me to kick rocks. I left the store and spoke to Walgreens customer service on the phone, and they told me that this NOT their policy, they stand by the safety of their supplements. They advised me to try speaking with the manager of the store first, and if they didn't do the exchange either, call back and they would make it right. I called the store and spoke to the manager, who thankfully was much friendlier than the cashier, and she approved the exchange with no issues. Overall, I am glad that Walgreens ended up making it right, and I will continue purchasing my supplements at Walgreens. However, having to come to the store twice and speak to customer service on the phone just to do a simple defective product exchange was a headache, so I will be shopping at a different location from now on due to the poor customer service of the cashiers at this location."
