Wellstar Urgent Care

"I recently visited this urgent care center due to complications from pneumonia, which turned out to be costochondritis. While the medical care provided by Dr. Donchev was commendable, the experience with the nursing staff was deeply disappointing.After enduring severe pain during a long wait, I underwent necessary x-rays and consultation with the doctor, which took about 2.5 hours. However, the ordeal didn't end there. I was left waiting for an additional 40 minutes for discharge papers, with no nurse in sight. My husband had to inquire at the desk before someone finally attended to us with the discharge paperwork.To our dismay, we later saw the nurse who was supposed to discharge me returning from her lunch break. It was clear that she had left me waiting in pain while she took her lunch, despite earlier peeking in and mentioning she would be "right back."This experience was not just disorganized but showed a lack of empathy and professionalism from the nursing staff. It's distressing to receive such cold and uncaring treatment, especially when in a vulnerable and painful state. The lack of coordination and communication among the staff only added to the discomfort and frustration of the visit.I hope this feedback is taken seriously to improve patient care and experience in the future. Patients deserve compassionate and timely care, especially in urgent care settings. I am providing an update to now also give Dr. Donchev 1 star too. I ended up in the emergency room the morning after my visit. It turned out I had broken ribs. While they did take X rays here, they only took them from the front, and not from the side which is where I was having pain. I found out at the emergency room later that the side x ray should have been standard procedure."

"Took my 97 year old mother in for a tetanus shot from a cat scratch at 12:30 pm. Did not have an appointment. Women at front desk were not in a hurry to do anything. We were finally seen at 2:30(not 1:30 like we had been told) and left at 3:00. During our time there we got to witness a child vomit on the floor 3 times and one of the employees brought out a roll of paper towels and disinfectant wipes. She then used her foot to smear vomit all over the floor and then track the vomit on the bottom of her shoes to the patient area. Not real sanitary. Wellstar should be embarrassed to have their name associated with this facility. I will NOT EVER go here for anything nor will I refer anyone and I plan on telling every doctor I see how absolutely unsanitary and badly run this place is. Do everyone a favor and take the word urgent off the name as it is anything but. I did not want to give any stars but my post would not register unless I did."

"The staff were very kind and moved as quickly as they could. I called mid morning and was told the earliest I could be seen was in the late afternoon and that I could make an appointment but would have to drive there in person to get the later afternoon appointment spot. So I did. Besides having to drive back again it was better than waiting hours and when I checked in I waited about 30 minutes after my appointment time. I was very satisfied with the care they provided."

"After 2 hours of waiting to be seen, I asked the receptionist where I was in the queue and they kept assuring me that I was next. 3 more patients were seen before me after that, so I left and they had the audacity to call me and ask where I was. You really think I'm going to sit there for HOURS being lied to?? Completely unprofessional. Worst experience with Wellstar I've ever had. I went into labor faster than I was seen at this facility."

"I cannot express how much I love this urgent care, from the front desk to all providers and nurses. Each person genuinely cares about your well-being. My whole family has been to this practice, including family from out of town that had urgent medical issues while visiting. Best urgent care ever!"
