"Not surprised about ratings but clearly they don't care. I've been a cardholder for 15 plus years and started shopping early this holiday season, 10/28 due to their 'black Friday ' push but buyer beware if you bought something that would not be received by recipient until after 30 days. They took $ I earned and refused an exchange. Without a receipt and a gift, tried to offer a credit of 15 for a roughly 50 dollar purchase, this after spending 500 in two months. Stuck with product for gifts now that cannot be used. Sad they don't care if they lose customers over it either. Just read their convoluted return policy during the holidays and you'll see for yourself. If you bought a Christmas gift on 10/28, it can't be returned or exchanged. Poorest excuse for service I've seen but will start shopping elsewhere and sharing experience."

"I made a $312.xx purchase (which consisted of several clothing items and 1 pair of shoes) at Belk store located in McDonough, Ga approximately 2 weeks ago. I returned one skirt and 1 pair of shoes with my receipt however I did not have my debit card because it had been misplaced. I was told that the money had to go back on the card and that they would have to give me a Gift Card. I later called the store number and asked to speak with Store Manager. However, the associate that I spoke to (as it turned out) was not the store manager and basically told me the same thing that the Clerk had told me. This was supposed to be Store Policy however it's not written on the receipt. If I have my receipt, I should be able to get a cash refund. That is so unacceptable. This was not the first time that I made a purchase from Belk, however, they have lost a customer. This tactic that is presenting as a Store Policy is a mere way to keep the money in the store. I dare you receive my money gracefully from my bank account and in the event, I bring an item back with the receipt within a timely manner and you refuse to give me my money back. I view this as an unethical business practice. I tried calling corporate but not able to speak to anyone. Belk you need to do better! The love of money is the root of all evil!"

"Pretty store, nice displays and good sales. But customer service is lacking. Everyone I encountered looked as if they were unhappy to be working. Unfortunate."

"My mom and I went in and I asked to check a price. Two employees were standing together talking. One lady was stocking rings and was very rude and said “you need to read the sign.” (The other lady just walked off). When I told her I didn’t see a sign she then barked at me “You need to download the app” when I told her I have the app and the item was coming up not found she said, “well, you can go somewhere else.. I’m not checking it.” I asked for a manager and she said she wasn’t calling anybody and I could go look for a manager myself. I don’t know why she was so overly aggressive about a price check. I tried to talk to the manager Isaac, but he didn’t care. He was too busy playing on his phone. He said “I’ll speak to her about it, but I don’t know what you expect me to do.” They should start by taking down the signs that tell you where to go for customer service.. because there isn’t any. He could of at least said “I’m sorry that happened.. can I check the price?” I just left my cart full of stuff and walked out."
