"I found 'Orleans on Carroll through Google Maps as we traveled South on I-75. About a mile off the highway and worth the tiny bit of extra distance. The exterior is beautiful and the setting in the charming town of Perry was welcoming on a cold and dreary January day. The interior and the staff were just as pleasant. Our server Stacy was a gem and gave us great food recommendations and interesting conversation about her hometown since it wasn't super busy when we visited. The Pimento Cheese balls were her first suggestion: deep fried gooey pimento cheese with hot honey dipping sauce. So good! The cold and damp day me want the gumbo and it was another home run. Full of chicken, kielbasa, veggies and a just spicy enough roux thickened broth. I could/should have stopped there, but I didn't. Another recommendation was the Prime rib Po' Boy. Shaved prime rib, sauteed peppers and onion and mozzarella with au jus. I managed half and had to stop. The New Orleans fries were also unique. Steak fry size, but thin, airy and crispy. Unlike a fry I've ever had before. My husband had the Pimento Cheese burger (yes more pimento cheese!). It looked delicious. His side was also unique: corn maque choux. Kind of like a Mexican street corn off the cob, but with a thinner crema and different spices. Also very good. And their iced tea was perfect to top it all off. Way too full to try any of the wonderful sounding desserts. We now have a whole meal's worth of leftovers to enjoy. Try out 'Orleans on Carroll if you're traveling, have time and want something so much better than the options right off the highway. I'm envious of Perry residents who can enjoy this restaurant more often that us travelers. We'll definitely keep it in mind for when we're in the area again!"

"Editing to say we came again and tried the pork sandwich and the jambalaya. Both were incredible! We came on a super busy night (there was a wine tasting festival in downtown Perry) and the service was still great. Our server was especially attentive and considerate in his recommendations. My husband had the pork chop and I think it was the best I’d had in my life. The shrimp and grits were excellent as well - the perfect amount of spice and savory. I’m looking forward to going back!"

"Amazing in all aspects. Every dish has a kick of cajun/creole spice but not overpowering. The attention to detail in the food, decor, and service is great. Don't leave without dessert... even that has an Orleans flair. Great place for lunch, dinner, or events."

"We got the pimento cheeseburger and the pepper jack burger. The pimento burger is absolutely amazing! I’ve had it twice now. Today there wasn’t very much pimento cheese on the burger but it still had a bunch of flavor. Juicy burgers, flat fries are amazing! Ton of flavor on everything. The pepper jack burger was spicy to my sensitive tongue but still good! Highly recommend this place. It’s sits on the corner of downtown so sitting outside is beautiful and you can people watch. The fountain is kind of loud but still a nice atmosphere. Our server Rosie was attentive and very good. We love this place and love coming to downtown Perry."
