"It’s a bit pricy… I visited Hickory Flat Kitchen for the first time and ordered a margarita and the southern burger with the jumbo asparagus despite the up charge of $2.50 for the asparagus since it was a premium side without knowing that I was actually only receiving 2 pieces of “jumbo” asparagus. I was very disappointed to say the least, I love asparagus! However the southern burger and margarita were a redeeming part of my meal both being one of the best burgers and margs I’ve ever had! (But be warned if you order the asparagus you’re getting only 2 pieces for $2.50)"
"The food was good once it was cooked right. The wait staff needs more training. I know young ppl need to start somewhere, but the company 's training or lack of is going to set them up for success or failure. Attention to detail and being attentive is part of the job. My son tipped well because it wasn't horrible, just needs work. The cook however should be reprimanded for allowing raw food to be served. The salads need some work, it was awful."
"First time visit, had brunch. The shrimp and grits were good, the grits were a little too gluey. Hubby had veggie omlette and French toast, both were solid. Overall enjoyable, would recommend and return."
"It was our first time HFK we had a fabulous server who was knowledgeable and friendly. The food, for the most part, was great! Very yummy. The melt was ordered at MW but came out of the kitchen closer to an MR. Which was fine but not as ordered. The fish tacos were amazing."
"We finally decided tonight was the perfect time to try this new neighborhood restaurant. The three of us ordered the shrimp & grits, chicken salad salad, salmon blt & bread pudding special. Every bite was delicious. The sauce on the shrimp & grits with the perfectly cooked shrimp was a real treat. The chicken salad was the original Frosty Frog recipe and did not disappoint. The salmon was cooked perfectly on the blt as was the crispy bacon. The serving was huge & will provide a tasty lunch tomorrow. We shared the bread pudding and could have easily devoured three full servings. We are all looking forward to trying other items from the varied menu. A very welcome addition to the Hickory Flat neighborhood."
