Rodney's BBQ

"I just moved to this area from Atlanta and I have really enjoyed this area except for when I came to this restaurant. The waitress who helped us was fine, but the hostess, who sat us was extremely rude. She refused to talk to us, even though we asked her how she was doing. She refused to make eye contact with us, and she sat us like we were diseased or something. We’re really nice people; I don’t know what her problem was or what we did to offend her other than just look different from her but it’s 2024 and that’s an inappropriate way to treat somebody, especially a new patron who’s paying for your services. We felt so uncomfortable we got our food to go instead of eating somewhere where we are clearly not welcome. I do want to reiterate though, our waitress was civil and treated us with respect and I appreciate her for not judging us based on our looks. Going back and reading reviews I notice I am not the only one who has complained about this and I hope that they change the way they welcome others and make the atmosphere inviting, despite differences."

"The buffalo okra was amazing. Was really excited to tryout the brisket I ordered but after 10 min we were told they didn't have any. I got the ribs. Big plate of food but just ok. My coworker said his burger and fries were good."

"I'm updating my review here. I've been twice in the last 2 weeks, and each visit has been wonderful. Fried mushrooms were salty but delicious. Perfectly cooked, huge portion, and sliced instead of whole. Now, let's talk BBQ. The ribs were still great. The sweet BBQ sauce is a delight. That's how I got my ribs(request sweet). Tender, smokey, and sweet! There is some disappointment to discuss. The burger size didn't look like 8 oz of meat. The taste was ok, nothing special. I did get a hint of stale flat top skillet taste on the meat. I requested medium,and they did try but missed the mark. There are other notable mentions like the Brunswick stew Fried Green Tomatoes baked beans macaroni and a banana pudding. These items are all delicious with the hometown taste. They do sell Cakes as well. I've never tried them, but they do look delicious."

"10/31/23 - visited again for lunch. (see picture). $17 for small scoop of mashed potatoes, small container of coleslaw and scoop of pulled chicken. $1 surcharge for credit card. Not impressed with little flavor. Sorry, won’t be back Old review - When i walked in, 2 different ladies asked if they cpuld help me, I indicated I would like to order to go sandwich. Neither could help me and said someone else would come and take my order. The little lady was running around working so hard, while the other younger girls just stood around and ate and drank . One even has some nasty dirty frog shoes with the holes smoothered in dark black oil. Most not dressed decent at all. None of them were allowed to take my order. Restaurant was vert dirty and bathroom had no paper towels. over 20 minutes for pulled chicken sandwich to go. No napkins in bag. I gave 3 stars cuz the sandwich was very good. Staff and cleanliness, zero stars..except for little lady. She needs stool so she is not killing herself all the time trying to reach on counter. She was really good!!!"
