"I had a wonderful experience at Select Specialty Youngstown. The nurses were great, physical therapists were great, respiratory therapists also. The aides were wonderful especially Patrice, Meredith. Toni, Miss G. I have never received such exemplary care. I had already spent one month in Mercy Health and received great care in ICU but terrible care on the heart floor. They would do well to take lessons from Select Specialty. Dr. Starr was also a great physician, very caring. Anyone that needs rehab would do well to go to Select Specialty."

"Expand Health at Home recently had a patient on service to treat a diabetic foot ulcer. Unfortunately due to this patient’s wildly fluctuating blood glucose levels, this wound not only became difficult to manage but started to decline. Expand’s clinical team, after speaking with the patient’s physician deemed it appropriate for the patient to assume a higher level of care. It was decided the most appropriate placement for this patient was Select Specialty Hospital where the patient could receive long term IV antibiotics if needed as well as appreciate daily wound care from the highly specialized, skilled wound care team for which Select is held in high regard. Expand Health at Home reached out to Market Director of Business Development Natalie Tomcsak. Natalie, along with her team of clinical liaisons coupled with Select’s admissions team, were able to admit our patient the very next day! Although we do realize this is not always possible due to insurance restrictions as well as various admission criteria that needs to be met, in this particular case it worked out and was absolutely the best plan of care for this patient. "Thank you to the most amazing staff at Select in Youngstown!! They cared for our dad like he was family! Not once did we ever encounter anyone on the staff who wasn't kind or professional. We hesitated having dad transferred here only because it is a little further away for us. We didn't regret the move once. Please rest assured that your loved one will feel right at home here.
