"Been living at Locust Hill for I think 7 years now (first 2 in a 2 bed unit shared with a roommate, then moved into a 1 bed unit). Going to write up the rest of this as a Pro and Con list to make for easier reading. But overall I've been rather happy here and would absolutely recommend it so long as none of the items on my Cons list are a dealbreaker for you. Pros: -Management has be great. Everyone I've interacted with has been very friendly. Maintenance requests are addressed in a timely manner and can be made through an online portal. The only time maintenance requests have taken more than a day or two to be solved have been instances where they needed to either order parts or hire an outside company to take care of the issue. -The included Wifi service is fast and reliable. Each unit has it's own router that's password protected. -Attached garage is a great feature and also includes a locked storage closet that's perfect for storing outdoor equipment, bikes, moving boxes, etc. -Good location. Having the Erie Canal walking path just down the street is great for taking walks or going on bike rides. Less than a 10 minute drive to the Pittsford Plaza or all the shopping centers on Jefferson Road. Getting to the highway is super easy. -Having a little enclosed entryway/mailroom for each building helps prevent package theft since most packages get left inside this entry. Also, from my experience if a resident sees a package in the entryway they'll bring it into the locked portion of the building so that it's even less likely to get stolen. -Heat and water are included utilities, so you don't need to worry about paying those separately Cons: -The shared washer-dryer units are pretty bad (there are no in-unit washer/dryers or hookups as far as I'm aware). The machine's capacity is pretty small and each use of one of the machines costs $2, so you can easily spend $8 washing and drying a week's worth of clothes for a single person. Honestly this is my biggest complaint. -Can hear noise from the nearby Erie Canal lock and from the traintracks down the road. Not enough noise to bother me, but keep in mind if you're really sensitive to those noises. -If you end up with noisy neighbors, you will hear them. But people who make a normal amount of noise aren't going to be loud enough to cause any bother (the only noise I ever hear from my current downstairs neighbor is when she vacuums and she's also mentioned to me how quiet I am) -In the winter you will hear the snowplows, which sometimes will do the parking lot at like 1-2am. Once again, not something that bothers me, but fair warning to light sleepers. -No vent fan in the bathrooms. Even if you open the bathroom window it can still get pretty steamy in there. -Appliances get replaced when they finally break down enough that they're unfixable, so this means you may have some old things that might need replacing at some point. But, when things really do break down they are good about taking care of it ASAP -Prone to power outages. Obviously this is completely out of management's control, this part of Brighton just seems to get more power outages and tends to be further down RG&E's priority list when it comes to restoring power during storms."

"My family and I lived here for ten years. The maintenance guys are all great and if they or management can improve something for you they always will. Over the years they replaced and fixed a TON of stuff for us. The only downsides are that the microwave unit in the kitchen dims the lights when in use so it’s easy to blow a fuse; the washer and dryer are maintained by another company so when they break down you just have to wait; and if it rains heavily water will come in under the garage door. I definitely miss the huge closet space, the garage/parking lot, the free wifi, and the porch was great too."

"We loved the location. Right off the canal path, and I could ride my bike right into the garage. Not having to go outside to reach the garage is a huge plus in the winter. When we moved in and were looking in the area, it was also one of the cheaper apartments in the area. The kitchen is small, but we made it work. The bedroom has plenty of space. We did not have problems with our neighbors. You can generally hear the people above you or below you, but can't make out what they are saying unless there is yelling, which we never had. You can hear everything said in the hallway, or said in any of the apartments when you are in the hallway, but once you are in your apartment with the door closed, it is not a problem. Dianna in the office is great, and we had prompt responses to our maintenance requests. Most of the maintenance requests were satisfied quickly, but a couple they said they had to check with their boss, and then never got back to us. Obviously it wasn't a huge deal or we would have followed up again. The common areas (stairway and laundry room) could be kept cleaner. They vacuum, but it doesn't seem like they mop, and they certainly don't do anything about the spiders and spiderwebs near the ceiling. The laundry is coin operated and provided by an outside company, so the couple times something has broken it has taken them about a week to fix. Overall, we found it a great value and great location."
