"Mission Hills is privately owned and privately built. The buildings are constructed with cheap materials (cost effective) and are built on filled-in swamp land off Camp Rd. The buildings continually shift and settle, causing ALL SORTS of problems with residents’ apts, as well as flooding and mosquitos, and snow and ice build up. The problems are so bad, their maintenance staff cannot keep up. So glad I am out of this nightmare. RESPONSE / UPDATED: I stand by my description of the experience I had with Mission Hills and their mismanagement of this property. There were problems for the entirety of my lease ie: flooding on improperly graded marsh land which floated the gas line to the apt, constantly setting off the fire alarms, and where water poured into the living room and bedroom through the foundation (where the concrete slab was poured on foam core sheets) every single time it rained. Rent was paid every single month. The apt was left broom clean as per the lease agreement but the carpeting in the living room and bedroom were damaged due to the constant flooding issue. Additionally, I was repeated harassed for the plant containers on the patio (which was directly across from a wooded area at the furthest corner of the property and completely hidden from view), all while other tenants had full vegetable gardens, garden decor, planted directly into the ground, including fountains. Preferential treatment was given to their favorites and to those who didn’t have repeated issues or complaints with their apartment. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else. There is a real issue with snow removal. If you have health concerns, it’s a problem having an EMT getting through the snow to help you. It’s a great place to go to die. UPDATE / RESPONSE #2 I find it curious that my comments continue to get a response after almost 4 years of my leaving Mission Hills. I think the truth and validity of my representation of the entire experience at Mission Hills must have hit a nerve with management. I wish they had responded as quickly to my concerns while I was living there as they are doing so to my updated comments. I stand by my statements. It is correct that rent was not paid (for the last month of lease) and my security deposit was used to cover it. When it becomes necessary for any tenant to call the Town of Hamburg's Housing Authority to intervene, you know there is a problem. Steer clear of Mission Hills."
