"Great waterfalls, but not good to observe them because of the power station nearby. Have a small park with benches and a free parking lot for a few cars"
"Travelling over the Gunk's from New Paltz and passing through Kerhonkson on February 26, we tripped upon High Falls, NY, a day after a light snowfall. It's an out of the way gem, nestled in the mountains. Not just a waterfalls, it's a small modern hydroelectric generating station and also, a nice walk in the woods with ruins of a mill from the 1800's with sluice ways and an aqueduct. There is also a launch ramp for small boats to fish the river."
"The water was a bit questionable but further down there's a path that the water is cleaner to just put your feet in. Def strong current will take you downstream. Ok for fishing. There is also parking but only for an hour."
"Most of the falls are in accessible due to the drowning and fencing. If you walk down the Central Hudson property, there is a small footpath that leads to the lower falls."
"It would be rad if the lower area was still open for viewing, but it’s a great place to pull over and take a peek at if you’re traveling through the area. No trash cans- pack your stuff out."
