Motel 6 Schenectady, NY

"Room was dirty when we got in, it had a smell, the sheets & pillow cases had yellow stains on them.. the service suck! The Indian guy had no interest in our complaints,... the location it terrible, they need to be shut down!!!"

"I and my brother had the recent displeasure of staying at this motel during our trip for a funeral. Never in all my years of traveling have I ever experienced such a run down and trashy place to stay. Upon arriving one could tell it wasn’t going to be a place we wanted to stay at and if it wasn’t for the fact that I prepaid for our stay I would have found another place to stay based only on the lobby used for checking in. Regardless we had just traveled 1,100 miles and needed to get rest so we made the mistake of staying here. Upon arriving at our room the room exterior door showed extreme wear from years of use and needed to be replaced. Walking into the room the flooring was even worse and was worn out cheap linoleum that must be about 20 years old or more. The beds were absolutely worn out and probably the least expensive ones they could find. Absolutely painful to sleep on and very restless nights trying to get comfortable all 3 nights. The vanity and sink were 60’s era design. The small refrigerator smelled like something died in it and was unusable. The bathroom was old and needed a complete update and had spiders in the corners. And to top it off there were 2 bath towels, one small one and one average size. Now keep in mind we are tall big men and the 2 towels were just big enough for one man to use. Pathetic. I asked for more towels and was given 2 more of the same size but house keeping removed them before we could use them. I am very tolerant and can deal with less than stellar accommodations but this is the absolute worst place I have ever stayed at. Reading other reviews makes me wonder how much the reviewers were paid for their made up reviews. This place is a dump and needs a complete renovation or to be torn down and rebuilt. I am filing a formal complaint with corporate but expect it to be a waste of time because they obviously know the condition of this place but have done nothing about it. Pathetic to say the least. All I can say is find some where else to stay"

"This is a very old property in great need of updating. The front desk staff was wonderful. The room was generally clean, except for a filthy vent behind the bathroom door. Easy access to highways and pet friendly."

"My partner and I stayed here for nearly 30 days while waiting for our house purchase to close, and I’ve never met a sweeter family! The owner of the place is kind, the rooms are well kept, and it was the perfect place for us to land while we waited for our title search to come through! Super pet-friendly. Our room came with a fridge and microwave that made our waiting period so much less stressful! The TVs have a rewind and pause function for low-stress viewing, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioner works great! We stayed at a few different Motel 6s in the area, and this is by far the best one! If you have dogs, this is the best possible motel in the area! (Don’t go to the Motel 6 in Albany, whatever you do. Especially if you have dogs or young children. The owner is rude, the guests are sketchy, and the doors don’t lock.)"

"This hotel has been a true blessing ! I am a travel nurse on the road and they are so accommodating and friendly. Staff always smiles when they see you. The rooms are fantastically clean and redone ! Highly recommend this hotel for anyone !"
